Common violations include painting, replacing rotting wood, damaged fences, failing to maintain yards, inoperable cars in driveways and algae buildup on houses. Please inspect your property and perform any maintenance or repairs needed. The following violations were cited during the month of October:
PROHIBITED VEHICLES Please be aware - Commercial vehicles and 18-wheelers are not allowed to be parked in the neighborhood overnight. This includes all vehicles with any business representation on it. RealManage will begin doing nighttime drive through inspections to handle the numerous violations present in Sundown Glen. NOTE - tickets will be issued and vehicles will be towed at owner’s expense.
PROTECT STORM DRAINS
Just one quart of motor oil can ruin the quality of 250,000 gallons of water. Decomposing leaves and grass clippings can cause large amounts of algae to grow, which depletes the oxygen level in the water and can lead to fish kills. The blowing, sweeping or dumping of grass clippings and other pollutants down the storm drains can not only cause drainage problems but it is against Texas State Law punishable by a fine of $5,000 for each offense. DEED RESTRICTION REMINDERS
We have noticed many homeowners taking care of their properties and doing necessary repairs to maintain their homes. Just a reminder, whether you own the home or you are a renter, you are responsible for maintaining your yards and homes. RealManage performs drivethrough inspections twice a month and sends violation notices to residents. PLEASE do what is necessary to repair/maintain your property to avoid having your violation turned over to the attorney.

Instructions: • Rake any leaves scattered on your lawn and remove them. Leaves left on your lawn can smother your grass by blocking light and air. • Mow the grass. Cut cool-season grasses to 2 inches and warmseason grasses to 1 inch. Grass that is left too long can trap moisture and encourage plant diseases. Leave a sprinkling of grass clippings on the lawn to help enrich the soil during the winter. • Aerate your lawn in the late fall. If the lawn is impacted, any fertilizer that you apply will not be absorbed. You can rent an aerator from your local hardware or home improvement store. • Seed any bald patches in the late fall and early winter before the ground freezes. The seeds can germinate during the colder weather without weeds encroaching. The bald patch should be filled in by the time the ground freezes • Apply a sustained release fertilizer. This will strengthen your grass for spring. We recommend that you choose a fertilizer specifically designed for winterizing your lawn.

No trash or clippings of trees and grass is to be dumped in the pond. Any injury sustained while playing in or around the detention pond will be the responsibility of the parent. Anyone being in or throwing trash in the detention pond will be charged with Criminal Trespassing subject to a fine or jail by the Sheriff. These ponds are to help our subdivision in rain and flood. THE LONE STAR SYMPHONIC BAND
The group recently recorded a Christmas themed CD, which will be available for purchase at all concerts this season. The Band is based in west Houston, with rehearsals and concerts held at CrossPoint Community Church off of Westgreen Blvd. and I-10 (The Katy Freeway). Five concerts are slated for the Lone Star Symphonic Band’s 21st Season, with tickets for all concerts available on the Band’s website, www.lssband.org, for $5.50 each and will be available the day of the concert at the door for $10 each. All concerts begin at 4:00 PM and feature the Lone Star Dixieland Band for 30 minutes prior to the main performance in the foyer. All selections performed will feature life’s many colors. December 15, 2013 will be the Lone Star Symphonic Band’s Christmas and Hanukkah themed concert, titled “Celebrate the Season.” On March 2, 2014, the Band will perform “Lone Star,” a concert as big as Texas! The Lone Star Symphonic Band will perform on May 4, 2014, a spring-filled concert titled “Spring into Fun!” The annual patriotic concert, titled “We Hold These Truths,” will be held on June 29, 2014. The Lone Star Symphonic Band is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to bringing performances of artistic merit to the Houston metropolitan area. Founded in 1993 as the West Houston Concert Band, the band is comprised of musicians from all walks of life and instills the value that music is a life-long event, continuing well beyond high school and college. The Band is under the direction of Mr. Bob Bryant.
