LAKESIDE RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION NEWS FROM THE BOARD
Please pick up garage sale signs or we are going to start fining. If no address, we will discard signs on morning they are put out. This is trash and it makes our neighborhood look trashy. Please have some pride or you will be fined for littering the property. Please make sure you are current on all dues and fines. Unpaid dues will be turned over to the attorney for collection. This is very costly to the owner. Also, you cannot use the pool if you are not current on payments or have a zero balance.
REMINDERS FROM THE BOARD
STREET LIGHTS If your streetlight is out please contact Center Point and give them the number on the pole, it will be located on pole in black and white numbers running vertical. If no number, use your GIs map listed on website or call. Contact information is www.centerpointenergy.com or 713-207-2222. MANAGEMENT COMPANY Our management company is TX Mgmt. Community Management, www. txmgmt.com. Mr. Juan Galvan is our new manager.
Please come to HOA meetings to have all your questions answered.
If you have any questions about the HOA, for CORRECT info, contact the management company or a Board member, NOT social media.
Our community is on track to be very nice please, the HOA Board ask for everyone to do their part. The less violations, the more money in our account and that is money to keep our neighborhood nice.
LAKE MUD 391 OWNS the lake. For any problems or concerns, contact them at 713-860-6489.
Please remember we are volunteers and we ask for all to respect that. All we ask is a thank you or good job sometimes.
YARDS Our yards need to be kept in good shape. Flower beds weeded, lawns mowed, yards weeded, shrubs and trees trimmed, all weeds out of cracks on pavement areas, a good rule is how you would want your house to look if you were going to sell it. Our homes are our neighborhood, the nicer it is, studies show there is less crime.
We also ask that all complaints to go to the management company, as we pay them to take care of that. If you have a question for the HOA, please come to meeting. Thank You, HOA Board Lakeside Residential Community
Please contact the ARC for any home improvements.

10920 Fry Rd, Ste. 200 • Cypress, TX 77433 • Hablamos Espańol TRASH CANS All the residents and the Board thank the people for following the rules and putting their trash cans away and respecting the neighborhood and their neighbors. • Please do not put out before the eve of trash day and be sure to pick them up by the eve of trash day. • The new barrier must hide cans from street and be acceptable. Cans just stored by your house will get you a letter. • Trashcans make the streets look very messy when not out for pick-up. • Trashcans have the most violation letters sent out. That costs us all money. • Remember to place trashcans in the garage, backyard or behind a barrier by the house, that looks nice and hides the can. STORM DRAINS Please remember our storm drains must be protected. One quart of oil can ruin 25,000 gallons of water. Grass clippings cause algae to grow, which depletes the oxygen in the lake and will kill the fish and ruin the lake. All we have to do is pick up our clippings after mowing and not blow them into the drains or let them blow in. Please watch out for commercial mowers that do yards and report if they blow into the drains. BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR When entertaining, direct your guests where to park and be respectful of loud music. Please remember to clean up. Communication goes along way. Also, welcome newcomers! TRAILERS, CAMPERS, R.V., ETC. • Cannot be parked in driveway or on street. • Please no driving on our grass in the park area around the lake. We have sprinkler heads there and it will break them and tear up the grass. • Please, just because your Neighbor is breaking covenant rules that does not mean he is not getting letters and maybe fines. SIGNS You are required to pick-up any signs you put out. Garage sale, lost pets and advertising signs are not to be put out on street signs in the neighborhood. You will be fined if signs are not picked up on the day sale is over. Pet signs must be picked up in 7 days.

Like other neighborhoods that will only allow 2 garage sales a year and that is the whole neighborhood, if the signs continue to be a problem, we will enforce only sales at our spring and fall neighborhood garage sales. The signs cannot be placed on government signs (stop signs, mail boxes, etc.). You can be ticketed by constables. NEIGHBORLY REMINDER
This is a beautiful community. In helping to keep it that way, it would be great to remind people that they should clean up after their pets. It is great for people to have pets and love their pets, but being a good neighbor is also important. We can’t tell you how bad it feels to put work and money into your yard so that you and your family can enjoy it and play in it... but then you find that other people have left disgusting feces on your yard for you to find and clean up! It is simply not fair. Please be courteous and clean up after your pets!

• When resodding semi-shaded areas with St. Augustine, use ONLY the variety Floratam for best pest resistance. See www.plantanswers.com/grass. htm. TREES AND SHRUBS • Plant container-grown trees and shrubs as soon as possible. In shady areas, where grass is difficult to grow, consider planting a dependable groundcover such as English ivy, Asian jasmine, vinca or one of the prostrate junipers. • Prune spring flowering and evergreen shrubs during early March. However, be sure to prune spring flowering shrubs after they have bloomed. • Fertilize with a pre-plant application of a slow-release fertilizer analysis such as 19 - 5 - 9 at the rate of 3 pounds per 100 square feet of garden planting area. Early March is the ideal time to fertilize landscape plants because you give them food just before the spring growing season starts.

CFISD students are expected to raise more than $500,000 from the 22 Annual CFISD Livestock Show and Sale, held February 4th - 6th at the CFISD Exhibit Center. The CFISD community showed an incredible amount of generosity in the live auction, freezer sale and via additional monetary contributions to students. The Premium Sale (live auction) unofficially raised $502,250. Final amounts from the Freezer Sale (animals not placing high enough for the live auction), Agriculture Mechanics silent auction and additional gifts to students are not yet available, but CFISD career and technical education coordinator Denise Kubecka mentioned that five records were tied or broken as grand and reserve champions sold.

“This means a lot,” said Bryan Hutchinson, Cypress Ranch head swim coach. “The girls have stuck together, they’re a great group with a ton of seniors and it’s been fun watching them win the past three titles now. On the boys’ side, we weren’t sure what we were going to do but it was a total team effort. We had people score one point here, one point there and it came down to five points in the last relay. It was outstanding.” Hutchinson was named Coach of the Year for the Mustangs’ success. Cypress Ranch juniors Luke Bowman and Madison Kinsey were named Male and Female Swimmer of the Meet, respectively. Kinsey won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly individual events, and was a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay team. Bowman won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke individual events, and was a member of both the first-place 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay teams. “Both of them are complete team players and they wanted to perform the best they could,” Hutchinson said. “They came up huge in individual events and were key in the relays. Both Luke and Madison worked hard, and they did outstanding today.”
MUSTANG BOYS’, GIRLS’ SWIMMERS BOTH DEFEND 17-6A CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Cypress Ranch High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams won their respective team titles in the District 17-6A Swimming and Diving Championships, held Jan. 29-30 at Cypress Springs and Cypress Ranch high schools. The Cypress Ranch boys won with a score of 124, followed by runner-up Cypress Creek (111) and third-place Langham Creek (90). Cypress Ranch clinched its third consecutive girls’ title with 182.5 points ahead of runner-up Cypress Woods (151.5) and third-place Cypress Creek (77). It marked the second straight season for both the Mustangs boys’ and girls’ to clinch district championships.

Cypress Woods High School sophomore Isabelle Decker was named Female Diver of the Meet and Cypress Springs High School seniorLuis Balzadua was named Male Diver of the Meet. Cypress Creek High School junior Zac Hawes had another outstanding performance in the swim meet, winning the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke individual events, then winning first with the Cougars’ 200 medley relay team. “It shows that my hard work has paid off throughout the season,” Hawes said. “The goal all year has been to go to state, so we’ll know after next weekend.” The top six swimmers or relay teams in each event (listed below) will advance to the Region 5 meet, to be held at the Conroe ISD Natatorium (19133 David Memorial Drive) in Shenandoah, Feb. 5-6.

Fox, a 6-foot-3 guard who signed with Kentucky, will serve as CFISD’s firstever male representative in the game. “I’m excited to represent Cypress Lakes and CFISD as a McDonald’s All-American. It’s one of many goals I set for myself coming into the season and it feels good to have accomplished it,” he said. “I’ve been told I’m the first male player to be a McDonald’s selection in our district, and I hope it’s a trend more players can follow.” Mulkey, a 6-foot-9 center who signed with Oklahoma, follows in the footsteps of former Cy-Fair High School stars and current WNBA standouts Nneka and Chiney Ogwumike, who played in the 2008 and 2010 McDonald’s All American Games, respectively. “When you look at the Ogwumikes, they’re going really far in their careers, and I want to do the same as them and continue to make a good name for Cypress,” Mulkey said. “I’ve wanted to make the McDonald’s All American team since my sophomore year. It means a lot and it’s a huge honor. I think it’s really awesome that De’Aaron and I are two athletes coming out of [CFISD] to play in the game. I think that says a lot about Cypress.” The McDonald’s restaurant located at 9715 Barker Cypress Road will hold a celebratory send-off event for Fox and Mulkey on Tuesday, March 8 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Visit mcdonaldsallamerican.com for more information.

They got after it,” said Michael White, Cypress Woods head wrestling coach. “We had two goals for this tournament: the first one was to make weight; the second one was to compete. They made weight both days and they competed their butts off.” Trahan was named District 106A Coach of the Year after the tournament.
CY WOODS GIRLS WIN DISTRICT TITLE; FOUR TEAMS ENTER POSTSEASON
The District 17-6A girls’ basketball season concluded on Feb. 9 with four teams qualifying for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) playoffs. Cypress Woods High School won the district championship with a perfect 13-0 record, followed by co-runners-up Cy-Fair High School (10-3) and Cypress Falls High School (10-3) and fourth-place Cypress Ranch High School (9-4). “It’s rewarding. To be able to go undefeated in our district is an accomplishment for these ladies,” said Virginia Flores, Cypress Woods head coach. “It says a lot about their work ethic, time and sacrifice. The first playoff game out will be a big one for them, and we will have to see how they adjust.”

Volunteer Opportunities CYPRESS ASSISTANCE MINISTRIES VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
When you volunteer you are giving to your community, but did you realize volunteering also benefits you as an individual? CAM volunteers often let us know the fun they are having, the friends they have made and the fulfillment they receive from helping others. The services provided at CAM, are made possible by many dedicated volunteers. If you enjoy working with the public, decorating or merchandising, then serving in CAM’s resale shop, Angels’ Attic, is the place for you. Our busy community donation area, the Cellar, is looking for people willing to serve by processing donations and restocking Angels’ Attic. Please plan to attend a volunteer tour and orientation by calling Tara Rauch 281-955-7683 or email at tarar@cypressassistance.org. For a description of the services provided at Cypress Assistance Ministries, Food Pantry requests and a detailed description of volunteer opportunities, please see our web site, www.cypressassistance.org.
