LAKESIDE RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION NEWS FROM THE BOARD
Lakeside Community would like to thank Kelli Garrett, our new volunteer, for organizing our Pool Movie night party. Great job. All had a wonderful time and look forward to more fun events for our neighborhood. Kelli’s realtor company, E-Commerce Realty, sponsored the popcorn machine. We hope more people will come forward and help us (HOA Board) by volunteering and learning more about our community affairs. Please all be careful on Halloween night. We have some good news to all our homeowners, we the HOA Board have voted to reduce the HOA yearly assessment dues. Amount will be announced after we finalize. We have voted to have our annual Garage Sale on Oct. 17, 2015. Our annual meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015. Cypress Crossing Christian Church on Cypress Rosehill, where our regular monthly meetings are held. We want to thank the church for the use of the church for our meetings. Thank You. We are going to have 2 houses from each section in our Christmas decorating contest. Prize will be $50 gift card to each winner. All are 1st place. We want to remind all residents living on the lake and the golf course the importance of maintaining their back yards. It is in their contract to keep
premises clear of junk, landscape nice, no trashcans and grass cut. All can see, so please understand that you can be fined. Residents and the golf course keepers report abuses and we take it very serious. All grass clippings, yard branches and etc. are to be put in trashcans, not put in bags on street. They cannot be left on curb for days, they are trash. The trash company does not pick them up. If put out, it must be on the 2nd or 4th Tuesday of the month when not in a trashcan. We recommend putting small bags in the trashcan. If bags are out when management company drives by, you will get a letter. Thank You, HOA Board Lakeside Residential Community

If you have any questions about the HOA, for CORRECT info, contact the management company or a Board member, NOT social media. LAKE MUD 391 OWNS the lake. For any problems or concerns, contact them at 713-860-6489. YARDS Our yards need to be kept in good shape. Flower beds weeded, lawns mowed, yards weeded, shrubs and trees trimmed, all weeds out of cracks on pavement areas, a good rule is how you would want your house to look if you were going to sell it. Our homes are our neighborhood, the nicer it is, studies show there is less crime. Please contact the ARC for any home improvements. TRASH CANS All the residents and the Board thank the people for following the rules and putting their trash cans away and respecting the neighborhood and their neighbors. • Please do not put out before the eve of trash day and be sure to pick them up by the eve of trash day. • The new barrier must hide cans from street and be acceptable. Cans just stored by your house will get you a letter. • Trashcans make the streets look very messy when not out for pick-up. • Trashcans have the most violation letters sent out. That costs us all money. • Remember to place trashcans in the garage, backyard or behind a barrier by the house, that looks nice and hides the can. STORM DRAINS Please remember our storm drains must be protected. One quart of oil can ruin 25,000 gallons of water. Grass clippings cause algae to grow, which depletes the oxygen in the lake and will kill the fish and ruin the lake. All we have to do is pick up our clippings after mowing and not blow them into the drains or let them blow in.

Call For Help Now! FREE Initial phone consultation Please contact us at
www.HayneslawPLLC.com 281-890-9LAW(529) Please watch out for commercial mowers that do yards and report if they blow into the drains. BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR When entertaining, direct your guests where to park and be respectful of loud music. Please remember to clean up. Communication goes along way. Also, welcome newcomers! TRAILERS, CAMPERS, R.V., ETC. • Cannot be parked in driveway or on street. • Please no driving on our grass in the park area around the lake. We have sprinkler heads there and it will break them and tear up the grass. • Please, just because your Neighbor is breaking covenant rules that does not mean he is not getting letters and maybe fines. SIGNS You are required to pick-up any signs you put out. Garage sale, lost pets and advertising signs are not to be put out on street signs in the neighborhood. You will be fined if signs are not picked up on the day sale is over. Pet signs must be picked up in 7 days. Like other neighborhoods that will only allow 2 garage sales a year and that is the whole neighborhood, if the signs continue to be a problem, we will enforce only sales at our spring and fall neighborhood garage sales. The signs cannot be placed on government signs (stop signs, mail boxes, etc.). You can be ticketed by constables. NEIGHBORLY REMINDER
This is a beautiful community. In helping to keep it that way, it would be great to remind people that they should clean up after their pets. It is great for people to have pets and love their pets, but being a good neighbor is also important. We can’t tell you how bad it feels to put work and money into your yard so that you and your family can enjoy it and play in it... but then you find that other people have left disgusting feces on your yard for you to find and clean up! It is simply not fair. Please be courteous and clean up after your pets!
GARDENING TIPS FOR OCTOBER
CypressChristian.org K-12 • Established 1978 Serving Northwest Houston 281.469.8829
• Dig and store caladiums before the foliage dies. Allow the bulbs to dry in the shade, shake off the dried soil and dust with sulphur to control fungus. Store by hanging in open mesh bags or old panty hose. • Flowers planted for spring can begin when the temperatures are going to stay cooler. Shrubs and trees can be planted now. Woody plants concentrate on root growth through the winter and the more headstart they can get before summer, the better. • October 15th is about the time for dividing and planting daylilies. • Watch out for brown patch in St. Augustine grass. These circular brown patches are caused by a fungus that is activated by moist cool weather. Control with Daconil. • If you need to do any pruning, do it early in the month. The re-growth stimulated by pruning needs to harden off before that odd-ball frost of Halloween. Prune fruit trees when leaves begin to fall. Remove all dead, weak and over-crowded growth. Tip back main branches to control size and shape. Spray w/dormant oil when temperature is between 30-60 degrees. • Cut back tops of perennials after they have bloomed. Divide roots and transplant anytime from now until March, the earlier the better. • Get the ant baits down. This will greatly reduce your spring populations. • Clover left over from last year may be growing. It’s best to hit it with the post-emerge herbicides in October and November. At least two applications are usually needed, even if done this early. • For color throughout the winter, begin planting pansies.
