The correct way in our subdivision is using a staked sign place your address, time and date and remove later on that day or as soon as the event is over. This is the only acceptable way to post such signs. If posting a sign on a resident’s property, please ask for prior permission as a courtesy. quarter. They will not pick up your trash if your account is delinquent. Please, keep your account current to avoid disruption of service. Another issue might be if you’re not putting out a trash can and only trash bags Waste Management may not pick it up without the sticker being present. The trash pickup sticker you receive each quarter shows you have paid your invoice and are a valid customer. It contains your address and the expiration date. The sticker is designed to be placed on the trash can please do not place these stickers on your mailbox. These stickers occasionally won’t stick even to a garbage can; use a heavyduty tape when this occurs. Trash will not be picked up if the sticker is not on the trash can and they will not pick up the trash at your residence if you have not paid. Do not place these stickers on your mailbox. Do not leave your trash cans out for an extended period of time. Remove your cans from the street as soon as possible. The stickers and the trash cans might be stolen. Some of our residents are unclear on the concept of putting trash cans at the curb for collection days (Tuesday and Friday). Trash can be put out after 5 PM the night prior to the scheduled collection day.
VETERINARY PUBLIC HEALTH LEASH LAW
There are still several animals noted running freely in the subdivision; please keep a close eye on your pets. Please be aware of a new scam, it has been reported that a young white male tried to pick up a resident’s pet that had got loose. This person claimed he was trying to catch the pet in case there was a reward being offered. Animals that are not properly restrained pose a treat to all our residents. While you may know your pet is friendly, an animal running at someone who is walking by is very scary for that person. Many children are afraid of animals and become frightened, which could result in the child getting hurt to avoid the animal. Veterinary Public Health (formerly called Harris County Animal Control) advises that “All dogs and cats must be kept under restraint while in the unincorporated areas of Harris County, Texas. The

GIFTED STUDENTS BECOME ARCHEOLOGISTS DIGGING FOR TREASURE More than 1,300 gifted students from every KISD elementary campuses visited the Katy Outdoor Learning Center over a two-week period to spend a day being archeologists. In budget conscious times, KISD and Katy Parents of Gifted and Talented (KPGT) joined forces to create a fantastic opportunity to put months of class research into practice. Specially prepared archeological pits were an unending source of fascinating artifacts leading students to hypothesize why bones, beads, arrowheads and other items may be discovered. Energetic geo-caching scavenger hunts through the woodlands introduced how archeologists use new technology. Archeology experts volunteered their time and knowledge to take students around the world on a virtual tour of ancient civilizations.
