Dear Hamlet Homeowners, The b the state’s regulations and safe for play! Repairs were completed in March by professional contractors with state and ADA approved materials, which brought the playground up to state standards and requirements. The repairs that were performed were critical and had the board chosen not to have them completed the park would, sadly, had to have been closed down. Our park is subject to state inspection, as is any public park and was in such a state of disrepair that it was a legal liability to our community. After many years of neglect and substandard conditions, we hope you will come out to see and enjoy the park with these new renovations. Pictures are included in this newsletter of the construction and before and after pictures of the completed work. Our neighborhood pool is a wonderful amenity, which provides a place for us to come together as a community and adds to the value of our homes. The board is happy to announce that the pool has been brought up to the state’s regulations and is ready for a long, hot, fun summer of use! The repairs that were completed were absolutely necessary for the pool to open this season and had the board elected not to have them performed, the pool would have had to close until they were completed. After the board reviewed multiple bids from pool companies who completed inspections of the pool facilities and provided detailed summaries of the mandatory repairs, we were able to accept the offer which best met the needs of the community. The Virginia Graeme baker Pool and Spa Safety Act was a federal act passed in 2008, which applied to public pools, including ours in the Hamlet; requiring anti-suction devices to prevent drowning to be installed in all public pools. The State of Texas passed legislation echoing this act, which applies to all public pools and consequently, the Williamsburg Hamlet pool, in 2009. The pool repairs the board chose to have performed brought us into compliance with the Virginia Graeme baker Act and the state regulations. There were also many other oversights which were safety hazards and violations of state many years. It is our hope that you will come out and enjoy the pool, even if you have not come to the pool in many years! Our pool is an asset to our community, which has now been repaired and is being properly maintained.

Please be advised that smoking will no longer be allowed at the Williamsburg Hamlet swimming pool as our pool company has family atmosphere at the pool. The pool is open to both those who own their homes and those who rent their homes. If you own your home, you must not owe any money to the association in order to utilize the pool facility. If you rent your home, your landlord must not owe the association money and must sign a form for you to use the facility. The board is making every effort to make to pool available to all residents of the Hamlet whose accounts are settled this year. We have a new system for pool tags this year so there will be no charge for pool tags. Please take good care of your tag once you receive it, as there will be a charge for lost cards. A mailer should have already gone out with information on dates for pool tag distribution. Pool tags distribution will take place at the pool on the following days: 9 AM until noon Saturday, May 5th Sunday, May 12th4 PM until 7 PM Saturday, May 19th 9 AM until noon address when you come to register for your new tag. WCA Waste Corporation will be picking up our recycling on Saturdayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s instead of Wednesdayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s. This change was made to make our recycling day consistent with the rest of the districtâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s for ease of collection and was approved by the MUD board. All recycling and trash need to be on the curb by 7:00 AM on Saturdays to ensure that it will be collected. Wednesday will remain a regular garbage collection day; please have your garbage on the curb by 7:00 AM. Items that may be recycled in the Hamlet are newspapers, magazines, colored paper, paper bags, folders, phone books, greeting cards, cardboard, cereal boxes, plastics #1-7, pots and pans, glass bottles and jars, aluminum foil and cans, steel and tin cans. gutters, copper and scrap metal.
