from WOC MAGAZINE
I became interested in art a year ago at the urging of a Japanese painter. My whereabouts and other information is currently kept private I believe that different colors exist in the same everyday scenery. Therefore, when I paint flowers, I use alcohol ink, which cannot be used to paint the same piece. When taking photos, we sometimes shoot in the same location to capture the changing seasons. I hope to express my questions and wishes about various global social issues through art. Every piece of my work has a part that is outside of the frame, but that is a message to myself that I should not be confined within a frame.
The title of this painting is a quote taken from the film The Green Knight (2021). The artwork evokes themes of growth and sacrifice. With the young woman whose long-plaited braid is wrapped around the tree, the painting explores the timeless, intertwined connection between the body, culture, and the land. This artwork explores how the foundation of mythology and folklore create stories that bind us together in a world that has broken our ancestry apart.
