MALAWI Malawi is located in Southern Africa, and is popularly known as the warm heart of Africa because of the warmth, multiculturalism and race diversity of the country. Most people in Malawi are Christians, some others are Muslims, and the remaining observe traditional beliefs or other minor religions. As a landlocked country, the economy is predominantly based on agriculture. Malawi is an exporter of primary produce and net importer of industrial goods. Major exports are tobacco, tea, maize, groundnuts, sugarcane, cotton, wheat, coffee, rice, and pulses.

TEACHING



We work with children, in an orphanage home, whose reading and writing skills are very poor for them to even have a meaningful interaction in the classroom. Our aim is to give the gift of reading to children.

JOB DESCRIPTION • Teaching the students various subjects like Mathematics, English, and Arts. • Engaging the students to be creative in various ways such as the use of arts, according to the capabilities of the intern •To assist in making class presentations with charts •To assist with the monitoring of kids performance by preparing progress report •Engage the kids in team building by team work & games to get to know themselves better •To mentor and encourage the kids to stay in school

Start Date: 20 June 2016 End Date: All year long Duration: 6 weeks minimum; 12 weeks maximum Transport: $2/day Working hours: 9am – 4pm Accommodation Fee: Free



Gender inequality is one of the most persistent human rights violations of our time. Despite many years of promoting gender equality, inequalities among women/girls and men/boys continue to manifest in egregious ways around the world HeForShe is a solidarity movement or gender equality that engages men and boys as advocates and stakeholders, to break the silence, raise their voices and take action for the achievement of gender equality

JOB DESCRIPTION • Train locals on how to properly promote gender inequality in the society •Conduct awareness campaigns •Train students at universities •Organise public forums for discussion •Suggest new/innovative ideas to achieve better results
