NSEA-Retired is a strong advocate for providing a quality public education for all children.. As a member, you will be informed about changes in retirement benefits, Social Security, and Medicare; and about trends in the education profession. Active NSEA members may join as Pre-Retired Lifetime Subscribers while still teaching. Retired educators may join as Lifetime members or Annual members if they are at least 50 years old and were an Active member in the Association the year they retired.

How will I benefit? NSEA-Retired works with Educator’s Health Alliance (EHA) on health insurance after retirement and before age 65. NSEA-Retired works with Blue Cross of Nebraska to provide an affordable Medicare supplement, NSEA-Retired BlueSenior Classic with optional dental coverage. NSEA-Retired provides retirement planning information to active NSEA members. NSEA-Retired members and lobbyists monitor and act on legislation that affects retired educators. NSEA-Retired provides regular communication updates on issues important to retirees through state and national newsletters, publications and our web page. NSEA-Retired sponsors regional and state-wide conferences in Nebraska featuring workshops and speakers on Medicare and other topics of interest to retirees. NSEA-Retired members have liability insurance if they choose to substitute as well as access to NEA Insurance programs and NEA Member Benefit services, including credit cards, car rentals, magazine subscriptions, cell phones, vacation packages, tours and more.
