Long-term plan • Serves for long-term forecast of significant phenomena at the airport. • Forecast always starts from the next day (00-06 forecast time) from the observation time. • First three days of the forecast are represented with 6-hour time step. (00-06, 06-12, 12-18 and 18-00). These intervals exclude phenomena occurring in the last hour of the interval. • Forecast for first three days is generally more accurate thanks to local mesoscale numerical weather prediction models (Aladin) used alongside traditional global numerical weather prediction models (GFS ensamble). • Forecasts for the fourth and more days rely almost entirely on global numerical weather prediction models with lower accuracy, therefore use of 1-day time-step is sufficient.
