BIG EAST Highlights • The highlights of my time at the BIG EAST have all centered around the immense number of lessons I have learned from the experiences I have had and the people I have been surrounded with. Being able to play a strong role in the planning of the 2020 NCAA East Regional was incredibly eye opening and I am grateful to have been exposed to all operational aspects of a major tournament. I also thoroughly enjoyed analyzing and presenting data in a way that displayed our schools in the best light, whether that be through creating scheduling dashboards, crafting notes for our men’s and women’s basketball monitors in the tournament selection process or tracking on our sportsmanship numbers. I am incredibly thankful as well for the opportunity to play a part in the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments and the crisis management exposure I gained during them. I have learned more than I could’ve imagined during my experience at the BIG EAST and am so grateful to have been surrounded by amazing colleagues along the way. Career Aspirations • Ultimately, I would love to work my way up to a high ranking strategy or analytical role within the sports industry. I am very passionate about data and the opportunities it presents to improve efficiency and foster change within sports related organizations. I am unsure which facet of the industry I want to end up in, whether that be the college, professional, media, or agency side of the business. However, I am open-minded and am excited to gain more experience in whatever realm of the industry that may be. No matter what, throughout my career my main goals will always be to leave everywhere I go better than it was when I arrived as well as to touch and improve the lives of those I am surrounded with. DISC Assessment Results • My DISC assessment results were iS with an inclination towards C. My main takeaway from my results was that my main goal is always to build and maintain relationships. I prioritize collaboration and cooperation in the workplace and I am consistent and loyal as a result. I am outgoing, optimistic, and focus on the quality and accuracy of my work. Fun Facts • Got into a paragliding crash in the Swiss Alps • Went to Texas to watch Villanova win the national championship TWICE • Missed three foul shots with less than 2 seconds left in the game in 7th grade basketball playoffs. My team lost by three. Biggest character building experience of my life. Words to Live By • The two things in life you are in total control over are your attitude and your effort. • How lucky are you to get to live your dream, every single day? • No matter how you feel get up, dress up, show up, and never give up. • Be kind to one another

Bachelor of Science in Marketing DePaul University, 2019

BIG EAST Highlights • A few of my favorite moments working at the BIG EAST have been my interactions with the student-athletes across our 10 member schools. Taking part in Transition Game, a professional development seminar for women’s basketball juniors and seniors, was a special program that allowed me to see the wholistic approach to molding the future for student-athletes. Being present at the Swimming and Diving Championship was electifying as the student-athletes possesed so much joy and passion for each other, their sport and their insitution. Additionally, I have been exposed to many different scenarios which allowed me to obtain different skill sets in large-scale event planning and crisis communications with our men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. I am truly grateful for my time and opportunity spent with the BIG EAST Conference. Career Aspirations • As for career aspirations in the long term I would love to be an athletic cirector at the collegiate level. In the short term, I am focusing on making a difference and positive impact on student athletes. Showing up for student-athletes and being a resource for them is something I will always strive to do. I want to hone in on internal operations within the department, specifically scheduling, student-athlete develooment, community out reach and academic success. I continue to grow in communications and operations, but love a new challenge. Ultimately, I want to make an impact on thoise around me and continue to be a lifelong learner. DISC Assessment Results • After taking the DISC assesment, my results came back Id. What I have gleaned from these results is that I am definitely looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative workplace where idea sharing and brainstorming is encouraed. I am very outgoing, team oriented and enjoy meeting new people. Christopher Suarez Championships Assistant

Masters in Sport and Fitness Administraton and Management St. John’s University, 2019 Bachelor of Business Administration in Sports Management Daemen College, 2018

BIG EAST Highlights • My current highlight at the Big East would be getting to meet all the coaches through coaches’ meetings and through championships. I love seeing the back-door knowledge that coaches have to offer that I can use later in my career. I especially enjoyed the cross-country championship due to the craziness of it with snow and mud and seeing individuals tough through that to race. Along with that Field hockey was very fun too the coaches and the intensity of a smaller scale championship was high with UConn traveling so many people it really made the experience great because it also brought more intensity to the championship for the other teams there. Career Aspirations • Obtain a position in women’s basketball next year assistant coach or assistant/director of operations • Work through an institution to learn more about fundraising and development along with marketing while still in basketball • Obtain my law degree part time along with working in athletics • Work my way up through the years to assistant/associate AD of external relations • Then overall AD DISC Assessment Results • Id, high Influence/Dominance • My disc profile reflects my style or work/natural state to an extent. In my natural form influence takes a higher state then dominance but in my work environment they are close to equal. In he influence side of my I like to create relationships to have a good relationship work balance to keep things running smooth. With the dominance side of my disc profile I would say that its more of a leadership form of style with staying on task, getting things done and organizing a group. Fun Facts • I’ve worked/volunteered at all three divisions • I’ve worked for multiple collegiate level sports, track/xc, basketball men and women, and lacrosse • I went whale watching and got to see a baby calf breach high out the water Words to Live By • “Be Phenomenal or Be Forgotten” – Eric Thomas • “Because the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. Think different.” – Steve Jobs • “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.” – Kobe Bryant
