The spatial order in Architecture has a definite impact on the psyche of the society. To understand this impact fully is perhaps impossible. But to understand that it exists, is the opportunity to use design to change the way society uses it to bring about rehabilitation and social change. DECREASING LEVELS OF SECURITY To provide an architectural paradigm which is based on incentive. It is the situation created by architecture which becomes oppressive or liberating The SITE - an abandoned cloth mill in Roshanara Bagh : 1. High density residential area-part of the community. 2. Public park to increase interactive edge footfall. 3. Main city highway for easy access for visitors. 4. Tes Hazari Court, speed up trails. 5. High density greens inside, for recreational grounds.

Facilities which encourage interaction. - Not allowing the prisoners to stay inactive, which breeds a sense of unease and laziness - Introducing training work for equipping inmates with necessary skills thus help them become productive members of society, making each prisoner an agent of social change Rehabilitation training and activities - Education, Vocational Training, Cultural events, Playing grounds, Social Interactiona

URBAN STUDY OF ASAF ALI ROAD) – A 2 km stretch, neglected and unkempt with a lot of character which varies from one section to another. Existing Architectural vocabulary - No defined architectural edge on New Delhi side. - Colonnaded pedestrian walkway and shopping edge along the old Delhi side. - Unplanned built up in the vestigial greens Redesigned Architectural Vocabulary - Retaining the Old Delhi Edge (existing Asaf Ali commercial area). as it has a defined function as well as Architectural language. - Giving the New Delhi side a strong defined edge as in case of the Old Delhi side Redesigned Pedestrian experience - Bringing the Public building - city centre into the central green, so it can be used by the employees.ie. the city centre and the railway station. Connecting the public monuments at one end to the Railway station at the other via the central green vista. - Merging the small greens and removing the built up to get a bigger, more accessible, central open green space which responds to all the main nodal points. Bringing people from both Old and New Delhi together.

Designed for the Jewellery Council of India exhibiting jewellers from all across the world. The exhibition covers ground space of 50,000s q.mts. Brief: The project entitles the following with a central design theme-Two Installations of 675 sq.mt. and 400 sq.mt. -One Business centre of 700 sq.mts. and -Three entrance gates -One connecting walkway 9 meter wide and 42mts length Site Layout and Marking stall areas at site. Graphics for the Exhibition. The structures designed by me are detailed on the following pages. There was tremendous learning in the project about the design and fabrication process. I got to explore with modularity, making construction process more efficient while achieving a good design. Modularity with an option for customisation which makes the product better for the end user.

MATERIALS - Pine wood framework with an MDF front and back side. suspended from the outer structure by steel wires. - The walkway is encased in an outer prefab shell made of M.S. trusses and columns, with the other walls out of one layer of second hand commercial board with a layer of plastic sheets to make the space water proof.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN, AT STUDIO D
- Since the nursery lies on a planned Green Belt, permanent structures were not permissible. - The Main buildings were made with baked clay bricks, with mud mortar instead of cement. - The brick courses were designed to create an elegant shadow pattern. The window arrangement were made to allow the hint of a view from inside to outside, with a private garden view from the office. - The winding walkway uses waste stone from neighbouring construction sites. - A running stream and a bird sanctuary were envisioned around the various sitting areas in the landscape in order to create a natural ambience.

Role : Design brief, Research, Discussion, Theory writing a book and Presentation Project team : Individual study for Dissertation and Group study of 7 for Seminar The written word usually has been a precursor to scientific fact for many a long time. RETRO FUTURISM - a movement which marked how people were inspired by various fictional thought. Be it the Asimov from the 1960’s or the New age Inception of 2011. This influence is felt by all in two diverse ways. THE WRITTEN WORD The written word transforms into a different thought for each individual, a different architecture for every individual influenced by their diverse experiences. Movies about global warming and an impending dark future are a good example of how the common man, today strives towards a universal Eco drive. THE IMAGERY A picture is said to be worth a thousand words but what we forget is that thousand words are a whole world by themselves. Imagery plays a pivotal role in forming ideas. People born with a blank state and grow with different exposures which makes each person a distinct individual. The wilder the idea, longer it stays in a persons mind, the more popular it becomes. The imagery becomes an integral part as the selling quotient, changing the urban fabric of the developing city. seen largely in cities like Dubai and Gurgaon. Without imagination humanity would still be stuck in caves eating raw meat.

The imagery in the imaginary- Fiction, Film and Architecture
ACADEMIC STUDY, AT SCHOOL OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE
ARCHITECTURE AND FICTION Apart from giving a visual definition for architecture to take reference from, fiction also explores architectural concepts and philosophies like floating cities, underground cities, etc which have inspired many tangible architectural thoughts and inventions. Including Film theory like The montage experience, has been an exploratory line in architecture as is evident in the design by Bernard Tschumi.
1
Architecture as defined by Louis I Kahn – “starts from the immeasurable, moves through the measurable and finally ends up as the immeasurable” That is what fiction provides architecture, which is the thought process. And perhaps leaving behind practicality will often help desingers imaginatively reconfront the built environment.

ARCHITECTURE, PRIVATE PROJECT
HOLIDAY SUMMER COTTAGE : Designed around the natural contour of the hill. A waterfall was designed next to the cottage to compliment the river side location. The large terrace is used for sun bathing in the winter season and the pleasant evenings in summers.
OFFICE FACADE : The design started with the bamboo grove in the frontbringing down the building scale to human proportions, with a randomised brick jaali to compiment. The 12meter high corten steel door was designed to provide a grand entry to the office building
LADDER HOUSE : An open plan layout was complimented on the facade breaking the various facets into usable spaces of various scales and privacy. The breaking elements were designed as an abstract ladder running up the height of the building.
