MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Rockface is manufactured on state of the art machinery. This creates consistency and uniformity in color, texture, weights, sizing, and creates a flat product that lays better.
STRENGTH
Due to the manufacturing process and batching systems we can achieve nearly twice the PSI strength. Rockface averages over 11,000 psi.
PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Rockface production capacities can exceed 4000 pcs per day. No job is too big to supply product on time.
COLOR
Rockface is produced with two standard colors. Custom colors are easily achieved. We have the ability to match other masonry-colored products to create uniformity on existing projects and other products.
WIRE REINFORCEMENT
Rockface uses a proprietary wire design and is consistent in the placement of the reinforcement. Any exposed wire is near the bottom of the panels and is stainless steel.
WARRANTY
Rockface carries a 10-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Not only does K + R stand behind the product we also have a reliable manufacturing partner that is financially stable.
WATER REPELLENCY
Rockface has water repellent inhibitors as a standard in the mix design.
BATCHING PROCESS
Most precast products do not have precise measurements of the individual products that go into the mix design. This can create inconsistency between production runs.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Precast dock panels are manually poured in place and left in a mold for 24 hours. Curing for a week required prior to use or transportation. Panels are often not flat creating a product that “rocks.”
STRENGTH
Precast dock pads range from 4000-5000 psi. The products are not nearly as strong and therefore can experience a higher percentage of breakage.
PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Precast has limitations to capacities due to the number of molds required and manual labor.
COLOR
Color options are often not in the mix design. Inconsistency in production runs and limitations in the ability to match existing products are a factor.
WIRE REINFORCEMENT
Placement of wire is inconsistent and can leach toward the surface of the dock panel. There are no known producers using stainless steel in their products which can create rust leaching to the surface.
WARRANTY
Warranties range from one producer to the next. These manufacturers are often limited in the financial resources, and many have not been able to weather the burden of this issue.
WATER REPELLENCY
There are no known producers using a water repellent in the mix design of precast dock panels

Posts for horizontal railings come pre-cut for 36-in, 39-in and 42-in railing heights.
Stair or custom posts must be cut to height in the field and extrusions can be ordered in 10-ft or 20-ft lengths for that purpose.
When using horizontal cable infill, all posts, including stair posts, are available pre-drilled for the cables.

STANCHION MOUNT FOR DESIGNRAIL®

The standard capital and base set for square columns is the Tuscan style.
Tuscan capitals for square columns are made from Polyurethane. Most sizes of Tuscan capitals are made utilizing a patented process to create a Snug-Fit capital.
Capitals eliminate the need to purchase a backer rod to close the gap that can occur between the column shaft and the capital. Snug-Fit capitals do not require pilot holes. The Standard Tuscan base is made from the same material as the column to protect both the base and column from dents and other damage. Optional Poly Bases and Alto-style bases are also available for some square columns.

Deck2wall® Spacers will help prevent rot by providing drainage and airflow. Poorly designed ledger connections can trap moisture between your deck and house, which can lead to decay. This condition causes costly repairs to your home and is often a contributing factor when a deck collapses.

1. Cut ledger to length and lay out deck joists on ledger.
2. Temporarily attach the ledger in the desired location.
3. Drill holes as required for fasteners. Avoid joist locations and vertical grooves in siding if applicable. Refer to Deck Ledger Fastening Table on reverse side for the correct spacing of fasteners. Consult a designer or building official if needed.
4. Remove ledger, center Deck2wall® Spacers over bolt holes and attach spacers to the building side of the ledger. To comply with the D2W58 fastening table, install each spacer with 3-#8 x 1 5/8” Phillips Square-Driv® or GuardDog® screws, or equal. Use only premium exterior coated or 300 series stainless steel (Grip-Rite® PrimeGuard MAX®), 1 5/8” minimum length, #8 or larger.
5. At the building, apply sealant in and around the bolt holes / pilot holes to prevent moisture intrusion.
6. Position ledger against the building. Align bolt /pilot holes and secure fasteners.
OR
Install each Deck2wall® Spacer to ledger with 3 - #8 x 1 5/8” e screws (as noted above) and use spacers as a template to drill ledger. Position ledger in the desired location and continue drilling as required into supporting structure. Apply sealant and secure fasteners.
