A museum located in Columbus, Ohio. The project is meant to highlight the industrial and design importance of a city located practically in the middle of nowhere and why it is so important. So, our site is located next to downtown in a parking lot. We were only allowed to use one third of the site for the building and the rest is to be landscaped. I placed the bulding in the middle third to be able to seperate the parking and the park area since there is an important church just to the south and an important library to the south east and a visitor center at the south west of the site. The plan and shape of the building is meant to have main circulation space to seperate the paid and free along with a window on either end to highlight a popular structure nearby the museum.

When planning out the building placement and how it would interact with the land, we considered the flow people would have with the park along with the turning radius of an 18-wheeler especially since we want to fit a truck around and under a multistory building. The other main considerditon of the land was how the to keep the place from having too much concrete, so we wanted to bring the trinity river park to the site, therfore we thought about how to plant and landscape the area.

A project located in Dallas, Texas adjacent to the trinity river. It is focused on creating a sustainable gas station and truck stop that would be able to produce its own energy using solar panels. The building is also meant to compliment the future plans of Dallas with having an iconic structure along the Trinity, therefore we wanted to build a multistory structure that would highlight the surroundings, like the park.

Sports Pavillion pg 22

Located in Ames, Iowa on the Iowa State University campus. My class was given the task to design and build a pavillion entrance to the intramural field next to the gym. The class wanted to build something that didnt look to overwhelming and had to handle the harsh winters and high winds of iowa, but also construct something that looked too bulky and appealiing to visitors. My group was+ required to make a gate that would be unique and easy for people to get in and out of. The rest of the structure is made that way people can to sit down and rest under the shade along with a water fountain so people can rehydrate during sporting events.
