In the last 30 years, architecture in Greece has made leaps of progress and development, beginning to make its presence strong internationally too. This journey is also facilitated by the parallel rapid advancement of construction technology, creating significant and quality buildings in our country, highlighting both its culture and the potential of the construction industry.
Greek architects and other engineers with their talent and scientific and technical training, as well as technical and material companies in our country, have managed to stand worthy alongside the respective renowned professionals and considerable companies abroad.
With this special issue, KTIRIO editions manage to "penetrate" into a group of important architectural offices of Greece, to record their corporate profile and showcase the quality of their work, capabilities, and projects to a wider audience.
Using the English language, it is distributed in special locations, central kiosks, airports, hotels, consulates, chambers of commerce, etc., with the aim of reaching the Greek and foreign investors in the field and facilitating them in finalizing their project ideas and selecting suitable creators.

12 · KTIRIO · ARCHITECTS IN GREECE · Η τεταμένης αρχιτεκτονικής νημίωση / ΤΑΝ πλέκεται από το 2004 ως δίκτυο συνεργατών και αρχιτεκτονικών έργων από τον Τηλέμαχο Ανδριανόπουλο, αναπληρωτή καθηγητή στο τμήμα Αρχιτεκτόνων Μηχανικών του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου. Μεταξύ των έργων του γραφείου βρίσκονται βραβευμένες κατοικίες και δημόσια έργα με διακρίσεις σε πανελλήνιους και διεθνείς διαγωνισμούς –η κατοικία στο Σικάμινο προτάθηκε για το βραβείο Σύγχρονης Ευρωπαϊκής Αρχιτεκτονικής Mies van Der Rohe Award το 2013. Η κατοικία στο Ηράκλειο και η κατοικία στα Μέγαρα προτάθηκαν για το ίδιο βραβείο το 2017 και το 2015 αντιστοίχως. Η δεύτερη έλαβε επίσης το τρίτο βραβείο στα Häuser Awards για την καλύτερη κατοικία στην Ευρώπη το 2016. Η αποκατάσταση του "Ωδείου Αθηνών" έλαβε το πρώτο βραβείο στα Βραβεία Ελληνικής Αρχιτεκτονικής DOMa το 2020. Το 2019 το γραφείο αποσπά το πρώτο βραβείο στον διαγωνισμό για την ανάπλαση του κέντρου της Αθήνας.

Tense architecture network / TAN is woven since 2004 as a network of collaborators and works of architecture by Tilemachos Andrianopoulos, associate professor in the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens. The practice's work includes numerous residences as well as public projects awarded first prizes and recognitions at both national and international competitions –Residence in Sikamino was shortlisted for the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture, Mies van Der Rohe Award 2013. Residence in Heraklion and residence in Megara were nominated for the same prize in 2017 and 2015 respectively. The latter also received the 3d prize at Häuser Awards for the best house in Europe in 2016. The rehabilitation of the concert hall of Athens Conservatory was awarded the 1st prize by the Hellenic Architecture Awards DOMa in 2020. In 2019 the office wins the 1st prize in the competition for the regeneration of the Athens City centre.

Το έργο τους, SPARCH και MP Sparch, έχει διεθνή αναγνώριση με σημαντικά βραβεία, πολλαπλές συμμετοχές σε διεθνείς εκθέσεις, δημοσιεύσεις και παρουσιάσεις σε διαλέξεις. Σπούδασε στο Πανεπιστημιακό Ινστιτούτο Αρχιτεκτονικής (IUAV) της Βενετίας, όπου έκανε και τη μεταπτυχιακή της έρευνα. Morpho Papanikolaou is founding partner of SPARCH architects, with Rena Sakellaridou, with offices in Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece, while she has her office MP SPARCH in Thessaloniki. SPARCH and MP Sparch, have been awarded many international and national design awards and have been extensively published. She studied architecture in Venice (dipl. Arch IUAV), where she did graduate research. She has taught at the IUAV, at the International Workshop of IUAV and she takes part in the IUAV Abroad network. She was an adjunct lecturer at the School of Architecture AUTh. She gave lectures and she designed exhibitions of the Kostakis collection in collaboration with MOMus in Greece and abroad.

This project is a complete redesign of an existing shell, composed only of its structural elements. The general spatial configuration had to be retained, but the overall volume, the façades and the materials were completely redesigned. The stone wall, the white walls, the curved openings and the PVC building façade create a playful contrast energizing the in between spaces.

Location: One Kleomenous st, Kolonaki, Athens
While seeking inspiration by researching Lycabetus-related items, an old topographic map of the hill grabbed our attention. The inherent aesthetic of topographic map contour lines was the source of our architectural metaphor; we digitally created a facade landscape by assigning natural morphing transition volumes between the blocky balcony forms. We then sliced it up into multiple consequent sections for the creation of our cladding system parts. We added no extra volume to the building but unified the existing ones to the creation of a natural-looking geometry.

128 · KTIRIO · ARCHITECTS IN GREECE · PROFILE / / Το αρχιτεκτονικό γραφείο micromega ιδρύεται το 2016 στην Αθήνα, από τον Αλέξανδρο Ζώμα και τη Μάρα Παπαβασιλείου, ενώ το 2017 στη βασική ομάδα εντάσσεται ο Demetrius Pope ως creative director. Μετά από πολύτιμη εργασιακή εμπειρία στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό, το γραφείο ξεκινά την πορεία του, συμμετέχοντας ενεργά σε αρχιτεκτονικούς διαγωνισμούς, και λαμβάνοντας διακρίσεις (1ο Βραβείο Αγορά Χαλκίδας το 2017, 1ο Βραβείο για τα νέα γραφεία της ΔΕΗ το 2019, 1ο Βραβείο για το νέο σχολείο Pinewood το 2020 σε συνεργασία με το γραφείο Τομπάζη), ενώ έκτοτε έχει αναπτύξει ένα εκτενές πορτφόλιο έργων, το οποίο περιλαμβάνει κατοικίες, ξενοδοχειακά συγκροτήματα και γραφειακούς χώρους. Η μεθοδολογία του γραφείου περιγράφεται ως μια ολιστική σχεδιαστική αντιμετώπιση, η οποία μεταφράζει αυτό που κάνει μοναδικό το κάθε project σε σχέση με όλα τα στοιχεία που το απαρτίζουν: αρχιτεκτονικά, interior design, οπτική επικοινωνία. Στόχος είναι η δημιουργία μια συνεκτικής χωρικής αφήγησης η οποία εστιάζει στον σχεδιασμό exclusive εμπειριών στην τομή του χωρικού σχεδιασμού και του branding, ιδιαίτερα σε έργα ξενοδοχειακά και εμπορικά. Αυτή η προσέγγιση ορίζεται ως "identity architecture".

Conceived as a tribute to the Eternal Egyptian Summer, Shemu Resort borrows its name from the harvest season of the Nile, a season filled with abundance, immense joy and ritualistic significance. The new hotel concept aims to become a transcription of Egypt's diverse landscape, alternating the sense of exploration and relaxation.
Micromega Architecture & Strategies was founded in 2016 in Athens, by Alexandros Zomas and Mara Papavasileiou, while Demetrius Pope joins the studio in 2017 as creative director.
After valuable work experience in Greece and abroad, micromega begins its own path by participating actively in architectural competitions (1st Prize in Halkida Market 2017, 1st Prize for Greek Public Power Corporation in 2019, 1st Prize for Pinewood School in 2020 in collaboration with Tombazis Architects), while building its own portfolio of projects, including residential, hospitality and office spaces.
Micromega has developed a holistic design methodology, in particular for hospitality and commercial projects, by applying the unique signature brand DNA in each aspect of the project: architecture, interior design, visual language. The goal is to create a coherent spatial storytelling and exclusive experiences, in the intersection of spatial design and branding. This approach is what we call "identity architecture".
