Head of school message
Dear SCH Community, Whilst every year is filled with unique moments in time, there is no doubt that the 2020-21 school year was unprecedented in many ways. Yet, at the same time, our extraordinary culture of community, innovation, and focus on learning has never been more in evidence. Looking back, despite the challenges we faced, it is clear we have much to be proud of and grateful for. Many of our school’s accomplishments are celebrated in the pages of this report. What stands out to me is the way we stood together and demonstrated, time and again, what an extraordinary community we are. When we welcomed our students, faculty, and staff back to campus in September, the familiar sounds of laughter, learning, and play felt like a homecoming. Even with masks and new protocols and routines, there was a palpable sense of joy in the air. In this report, you’ll see reflections of that joy. You will see photos of school events made possible through the compassionate donation of time by volunteers. And most importantly, you will be reminded of the dedication of our faculty and staff as they worked diligently to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for our students and families.
The purpose of this report is to look back on the year, acknowledge the contributions of so many, and celebrate some of the many milestones that we reached. As you turn the pages before you, you will see the names of our family of donors who have invested in our community and given back in support of our school’s mission. I look forward with excitement as we all continue to work together to make SCH the very best at creating a learning environment where students can challenge themselves as they build a deeper understanding of themselves and the world in which they live, and who will contribute to making that world a better place. Thank you for your integral and valued role in the SCH community. With gratitude,
Steve Druggan Head of School
