MAYOR’S MESSAGE Celebrate the 2019 Seniors Festival! On behalf of Ku-ring-gai Council, I’m delighted to welcome you to the 2019 Seniors Festival celebrations in Ku-ring-gai. This guide tells you everything you need to know about what’s on offer, but please book early! Some events, such as excursions, are very popular and book out quickly. NSW Seniors Week is on between 13 and 24 February, but Ku-ring-gai Council and other community-based organisations are offering around 40 events during February and March for older residents, many of them free. On 19 February we will host the Everything for Seniors Day at St Ives. This is a day where you and your families can discover services and activities available for seniors in Ku-ring-gai, enjoy musical performances, come & try classes and enjoy a delicious morning tea and lunch. Thank you once again to Event Cinemas Macquarie for sponsoring the annual free movie. Other activities during the Festival include a Taste Tour of the Harris Park Indian shopping precinct, a tour of Government House and lunch at the Cruising Yacht Club in Darling Point, and other excursions and seminars. Thank you to all the organisations and community groups who are supporting the festivities. I hope you enjoy our Seniors Festival this year! Cr Jennifer Anderson Mayor of Ku-ring-gai
