ince the 1920s, when the second generation of Jayhawks landed on Mount Oread, loyal families have continued to lengthen their legacies. This year’s edition of Jayhawk Generations includes more than 250 freshmen whose parents or grandparents are Alumni Association members. Like their faithful forebears, these newest Jayhawks bring varied accomplishments as scholars, community volunteers and athletes. Many of the Kansans achieved top 10-percent rankings in their high school classes, earning the Alumni Association’s recognition as Kansas Honor Scholars. With assistance from the Office of Admissions and Scholarships and alumni records research by Kim Perry of the Alumni Association staff, we are pleased to affirm once again that KU tradition is an enviable family trait.
