Glassmaker Museum Glass Cabinet

The Riedel Museum and the „Glass Cabinet – Retrospective & Ideas Laboratory“ at the Kufstein site show a comprehensive depiction of the work of the Riedel glassmaking family in Kufstein from 1957 onwards, presenting highlights of the family‘s history and glass art in Bohemia. Some of the items on exhibition originate from the family‘s own collection. The glass- making museum features an interactive and family-friendly portrayal of the craft and to the physics and chemistry of glass production.

This exhibition area conveys an insight into the history of glass production from its beginnings to the present day, glass production, quality control, as well as the work and life of the glassmakers. The museum also focuses on the social and technical history of Riedel as a company.

The „Sinnfonie“ multimedia show of emotions takes you on a journey through the five sensory perceptions and immerses you in our world of glass and the senses. Seeing, hearing, smelling, feeling, tasting in the harmonious interplay of glass and wine.

A Look Into The Factory

You will get an exclusive insight into the factory from the Glassmaking Museum. Following an informative and interactive introduction to glassmaking and the history of the craft, plus an overview of Riedel‘s production sites, you will experience up close how glasses are handmade using wooden and metal tools.
