Prior to 2012, Hunting Set Deer participated in a competition in Germany, where the 2012 best hunting set would be crowned. Pinewood was taking in tough competition, a very honorable second place at the Goldener Keiler 2012 Jäger Awards! An appreciated proof of Pinewood succeeded in their quest to produce good hunting clothes at reasonable prices.

THE ART OF DRESSING PROPERLY With strenuous physical activity when your body becomes strained and hot it is very important to keep dry and comfortably warm. If your body does not manage this, it can be uncomfortable and later become cold. In order to enjoy physical activity at a maximum without having to worry about the right clothing, it is important to be aware of, understand and dress according to the 3-layer principle.

MOISTURE MANAGEMENT – LAYER 1 The garment next to the body. This layer removes moisture from the skin to maintain a comfortable and dry micro environment next to the body. The moisture is removed through the fabric in Layer 1, outside which, it quickly evaporates. The fabric warms the body when it is cold and passes moisture on to the next layer. Cooldry®, Coolmax® polypropylene and specially treated polyester are classified as fabrics suitable for layer 1. Never wear cotton next to the body as cotton absorbs moisture and therefore has a cooling effect.

Merino wool fibres have unique natural characteristics which no synthetic fibre can match. Merino wool is naturally anti-bacterial which reduces risk of smell. Merino wool fibres isolate air in both wet as well as in dry conditions. The construction of this underlayer fabric has terry loops which traps more air and this also contributes to higher insulating levels. The shirt has high collar and zipper to close it as well as longer back. Trousers with fly. Merino wool garments can be used as both Layer-1 and Layer-2 products. INSULATION - LAYER 2 The middle layerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s main function is to insulate and thereby warm the body. The second layerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s other function is to pass moisture further from the body. The middle layer can consist of a few insulating garments e.g. garments in fleece. If too hot, a thinner garment can be worn. All of them must be able to pass on moisture to function well during strenuous physical activity. A flannel shirt acts well as an insulating layer during light physical activity. PROTECTION - LAYER 3 The outer layer protects you against rain and wind. This layer can, through padding, also be heat insulating. Layer 3 must be breathable for maximum comfort, as this layer will remove moisture from the inner layers. High humidity (water column above 4,000 mm is a minimum) is a necessity for an acceptable protection against rain. These garments should also have taped seams to prevent water from entering through the seams/cotton stitches.

WASH IN CLEANER (FOR HUNTING) 9682 This Hunting-Wash-in-Cleaner by Pine-Tech™ is not just a detergent which effectively cleans hunting clothing. It has also been specifically developed for hunting purposes to cover, neutralize or absorb scents coming from the human body (ex. sweat) or other sources (ex. smell of cigarette smoke or smells from initial production at garment factory, perfumed detergents, dogs,….) which normally makes a hunter highly detectable by animals like deer, moose and wild boar. This neutralizing feature from inside out gives the hunter significantly higher success in stalking prey and to be less worried about getting detected by wrong wind direction. The Wash-in-Cleaner also optimizes the breathing capacities of modern technical breathable membranes/coatings giving the active hunter higher comfort. SPRAY-ON-WATERPROOFER (FLAMERETARDANT) 9680 This high quality Waterproofing- and-Flame retardant-spray by Pine-tech™ can be used to treat all textiles or equipment worn or used in situations when risk of contact with fire or sparks is apparent. This product meets M2 flame retardant standards. This product also adds a durable waterproofing treatment to the fabric making waterdrops bead off. Suitable for hunting- and outdoor clothing, tents, backpacks, gloves, shoes and many more. This product also contains a built in UV-absorption which products against colourfading and fabric deterioration caused by harmful UV rays. Suitable for synthetic and cotton fibres. This product does not contain propellant or flouro carbons and is environmentally friendly. 300 ml.

The scent control treatment range gives the hunter greater possibilities to get closer to the prey by neutralizing and absorbing the scent of the hunter and hunters clothing. Without exposing scent the hunter needs to worry less about wrong wind which will lead to more, closer and safer shots during all kinds of hunting.
