BY KEVIN UHRMACHER fter a little more than a century of producation, Rolls-Royce has defined itself as a leader in luxury car manufacturers. After a brief bout with the 2009 recession, the Rolls-Royce brand roared back, posting a record 3,538 cars sold in 2011. This was up 41 percent from the year before. These sales were led mostly by the company’s Phantom model. The Phantom is one of the signature names in the Rolls-Royce brand. Since the mid-1920’s, Phantoms have repeatedly shown up as the cornerstone of the company’s fleet. The launch of the new Phantom series in 2003 signified a shift for Rolls-Royce toward a more dynamic and contemporary vision for the brand.
