TURKU PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA AND TURKU CONCERT HALL Aninkaistenkatu 9 www.tfo.fi Turku Concert Hall is located in the very centre of the city, by the Puutori marketplace near the bus and railway stations. In addition to the music hall, the foyers are available for rent either separately or as a package. The technology in the Concert Hall allows live streaming and viewing of events over the internet.

TURKU CITY LIBRARY Main library, Linnankatu 2 www.turku.fi/library Turku’s main library block offers a charming setting for meetings and seminars. The Studio in the new section has a capacity for 80 persons. The governor’s office building dating back to the 19th century, provides a meeting room for 20 persons and also the Idea Room with a capacity of 7 persons. The Main Library and café are open every day. Stop in the library’s news market to read the day’s newspapers from near and far. The electronic versions of over two thousand domestic and foreign newspapers can be read at the library’s many customer terminals. WIFI is available throughout the library complex free of charge. The library organises guided tours.

TURKU CITY THEATRE Itäinen Rantakatu 14 www.teatteri.turku.fi The theatre offers a unique setting for all kinds of events. Whilst the venue itself is mainly rented out for public admissions it is available for private hire. In addition, foyers and side rooms are available for cocktail parties, buffets and other functions before, mid-way through and after performances.
The available venues are: • Main stage (654 seats) • Sopukka (aka the Nook, 50–150 seats) • Pikkolo (40–60 seats) • foyer (max 650 persons) Groups of 25 people or more get €1 off the normal ticket price plus 2 tickets for free per group (excluding first nights, children’s plays and visiting productions). MUSEUM CENTRE OF TURKU

The modernistic white museum building on the left bank of the River Aura has been part of Turku’s cultural landscape for more than 40 years. Tours to the exhibition are available by request. The luminous foyer area makes a suitable venue for seminars and other events, catering for up to 150 persons.
Turku Castle Turku Castle has stood guard over the River Aura for more than 700 years. Exhibitions show treasures from the collections of Turku City Historical Museum. Turku Castle venues are also available to rent for private functions. These include, amongst others, the King’s Great Hall.
The Old Great Square The Old Great Square is the oldest city centre of Turku. For several centuries it was both the administrative and commercial centre of Turku and Finland. The buildings surrounding the Old Great Square offer both intimate and festive surroundings for all types of events, right in the heart of Turku.
Luostarinmäki Handicrafts Museum The Luostarinmäki Handicrafts Museum is a unique outdoor museum. The 200-year-old cottages have been preserved in their original building state. During summer months craftsmen work on display in the museum’s workshops.
Pharmacy Museum and Qwensel House, Biological Museum and Kylämäki Village of Living History are all suitable venues for smaller groups interested in the cultural history of the region. The museums in Turku offer visitors true cultural adventure with guided tours available at all our locations. We also customise tours by request. Popular themed tours such as Medieval Life and Festivities and Below the Waist are given at the Castle, and Enlightening Tour through Dark Alleys is conducted at the Handicrafts Museum.

Vimma rents out its premises for meetings, lectures and seminars.
Youth venues in various parts of the city rent out their club rooms, halls, etc. to private customers, clubs and organisations for meetings, activities and celebrations.
Hall The hall has 120 seats in rows and 80 seats at tables. The maximum capacity for concerts and similar events is 160. The hall can be rented for 40–160 persons as necessary.
Theatre Particularly suitable for lectures, seminars and information events. The auditorium has 40 seats. For meeting use, the room can be equipped with a table for about 16 persons. Max. 40 persons.
Meeting room A handy meeting venue right in the city centre. Max. 12 persons.
These include premises of various sizes at locations such as the Aura Brewery, the Harittu, Hirvensalo, Ilpoinen, Jyrkkälä, Kuuvuori, Lauste, Maaria, Moisio, Paattinen, Pansio, Runosmäki, Teräsrautela and Varissuo youth centres, the Tapulikatu club centre, Turku city centre and Kirkkoaukio 3.

The Timantti Theatre is a yearround, technically fully equipped theatre with about 120 seats. The venue is well suited to theatre rehearsals, performances, events, seminars, etc.
Helmiteltta Located in the middle of the park and used from May to September, the Helmiteltta tent is an atmospheric summer theatre stage with about 250 seats. Providing protection against wind and weather conditions, the venue lends itself well to performances and other events.
Big room The big room in the Adventure House offers good facilities for club activities and similar purposes. In addition, the room can be converted into a rehearsal or meeting room as necessary. It is large enough for about 20 persons.

Campsites The City of Turku has four beautiful, affordable campsites near water. The campsites and their cabins can be rented by, for example, organisations, associations and private customers. You can contact us at any time to enquire about their availability. In the autumn, winter and spring, there is usually room on the campsites on weekdays. Summer bookings should preferably be made about six months in advance.
Ahtela Located in Sauvo, Ahtela provides affordable service for various age groups. Among other things, the area is suitable for outdoor activities, parties, meetings, training and camps. Ahtela provides accommodation for around a hundred persons in seven different buildings. Ahtela is located 50 kilometres from Turku and 13 km from the centre of Sauvo. Meal, coffee and small-scale programme services are available based on customer requirements.

Tippsund
Tippsund has a sauna by the sea for about eight persons.
Vienola Vienola campsite is situated in Rymättylä by the seashore. Vienola has an 82 m2 cabin with accommodation for around 18 persons. The area has a magnificent sea view.
Nukkumajoki Nukkumajoki camp cabin is situated in Inari, Lapland. The area provides excellent opportunities for hiking and fishing. Nukkumajoki cabin provides accommodation for 30 persons. It has four bedrooms. There is also a
Tippsund campsite is situated in Taivassalo by the seashore. The area is an excellent location for organising camps, excursions and training events. Tippsund has eight cabins. Each cabin can accommodate six persons. The area also features a large maintenance building/dining hall with dining facilities for approximately 100 persons. The maintenance building is also suitable for organising training events.

common room and a kitchen with a refrigerator, electric stove, coffee maker and cooking equipment. There is an outdoor toilet and a separate sauna in the area. In front of the sauna, there is a pond where you can swim. The cabin is located about 70 kilometres from Saariselkä. It provides a good base for a skiing trip with the family, a group of friends or members of an association.

Kupittaa Sports Arena (seats for 1 000 spectators) can be booked for bigger events such as athletics or gymnastics competitions. The leafy Kupittaanpuisto park and sports centre offer versatile sports and outdoors leisure facilities.
Paavo Nurmi Stadium Paavo Nurmen puistotie 9 Paavo Nurmi Stadium, named after the legendary Finnish middle and long distance runner, is situated in Turku Urheilupuisto Sports Park. The stadium has covered stand for 4 000 spectators with additional terraces around the field.

Other sports grounds, school gym halls, indoor arenas for ball games and equipment hire Turku has a great variety of facilities for any sport. The available venues are: • Sand, grass and artificial grass pitches • Sports halls for ball games and gym halls (under 290m², 290–400m² and over 400m²)
EQUIPMENT FOR HIRE Nordic walking poles, heart rate monitors, sports equipment kits, snow shoes, roller blades and skis are available for hire at low cost. A variety of equipment is also available for hire for larger groups. We also hire out equipment for adapted physical activity.
