BioColony
Oct, 2022 - Sep, 2023 Academic work (Group work)
RC7, AD, UCL Tutors: Richard Beckett, Chris Whiteside BioColony explores architecture as an assembly of biologically active materials, matters and spatial ecologies curating live-workgardening typologies as a series of entanglements of species, genes and timescales. The project develops a design methodology using ML models trained on environmental data sets and a proposed platform tool that enables site specific environmental information to be embedded into any given structure, thus optimising building mass and form for maximal growth of natural diversity. Taxonomies of ecological parts are assembled using environmentally driven ML models to imagine how buildings as ‘biocolonies’ can serve as an ecosystem service for health. Group leader to coordinate team member's work.

The ancient temples were covered with microorganisms as time passed by. The diversity of microbiome associated with the plant can promote human health according to the new theory called MIGI (microbiome-inspired-greeninfrastructure). One simple example for that is the prevalence of asthma is higher in the urban area.
[Multi-user Platform]
[Ageing Massing] In the MIGI theory, one suggestion is to create a healthier environment, which requires the collaboration of multidisciplinary experts. Therefore, our initial idea is to propose a platform that enables different users to work together and bring the new building typology including living-workinggardening in a mixed-use complex. This multi-user platform includes different types of users. The platform will help users to develop this new environmentally-symbiotic buildings through the inbuilt machine learning and analytical processes.
N W S
We aim to design the building's ageing process to promote human health from the beginning of massing.
Northeast
During the massing process, we ran a series of environmental simulations to identify areas with greater potential for ageing. In these area create a microorganismfriendly environment by designing the fabricated components using low-pH concrete cement called GGBS. Additionally, we sculptured the building's form according to the wind simulation to capture more windborne seeds.
[MIGI movement-Environmental Simulation] The phase of the urban environment analysis, it follows MIGI's theory that the ideal site is located downwind of the green area in the city. We did the wind simulation by setting up particles in grasshopper, this process will tell the user where the airborne microbiome goes when the dominent winds pass by.

Our platform can also help the designer to generate the plan in their design process as guidance. Our workflow began with the selection of the growth area in Houdini, using sunlight analysis. Subsequently, we utilized Grasshopper and machine learning (ML) for multiple tasks: creating the functional layout of the floor plan, identifying the primary circulation areas, infilling the plan with furnishings. Throughout our exploration, we systematically considered various ML tools, including Pix2Pix and Lora. Ultimately, we decided to adopt DreamBooth from Stable Diffusion as our initial training model.

The Living Tourism Sep, 2021
Compeitition Work Location: Elini, Sardnia Island, Italy collaborated with yungman Wong Elini's railway infrastructure, steeped in art and culture, provides a unique opportunity to create captivating travel experiences. Travelers can explore remote locations, savor scenic views, and appreciate avant-garde artworks while accompanied by the nostalgic sounds of old locomotives. This potential makes Sardinia an ideal candidate for a distinctive tourism model. Many small towns, like Elini. Our team is dedicated to preserving the local character and quality of life while promoting cultural tourism. We aim to integrate tourism into the island's broader development plan without overpowering the essence of Elini's way of life, a concept we call "Living Tourism." It places differenr programs at different points in the town and expand the network of the railway infrastructure, which can be copied to other similar towns on the island. Civic Program Sep, 2017 - Sep, 2018 Academic work
BSc, 3rd Year, Cardiff University Site: Cardiff, Wales Tutors: Tom Sykes, Alice Brownfield
This project in Cardiff proposes a lightweight, communitybased infrastructure system that challenges traditional building methods. The Civic Program fosters citizen collaboration by utilizing leftover urban spaces for construction. It focused on the spatial crisis in Cardiff. It's an open-source, participatory platform that empowers individuals to build structures that reflect their needs and character and utilize the left-over space in Cardiff. This design by research project draws inspiration from the spontaneous public life in Lisbon and seeks to replicate these qualities in Cardiff. It injects connective infrastructure into existing architecture, encouraging civic collaboration. The ultimate goal is to inspire people to construct their shared urban life and promote a new synergetic building system in Cardiff, fostering resilient citizenship.

Boundries of Uncertainty Sep, 2017 - Sep, 2018 Academic work
BSc, 2rd Year, Cardiff University Site: Pontypridd, Wales, UK Tutors: Zoë Quick
The design for a Pontypridd primary school, accommodating 150-200 students, is a unique project. It not only provides teaching space but also considers its central location alongside the town's busiest street, integrating with public life. The concept revolves around breaking traditional boundaries, encouraging interaction with the urban context to provide a more interesting learning environement for the children.

Elan's Drawing room Sep, 2015 - June, 2016 Academic work
BSc, 1st Year, Cardiff University Site: Elan Valley, Wales Tutors: David
In the Northern Brecon Beacons, a project aims to create an enclosed visitor centre in the picturesque Elan Valley. This space is meant for habitation, offering a unique experience that transcends daily life, preserving memories of the land's geological and historical changes. It acts as a communal "drawing room" welcome both travelers and locals. Additionally, the Elan Valley's recognition as an International Dark Sky Park in 2015 will be integrated into the building, providing a stargazing space.
