URBAN DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Project Type: Group - Kunjal Parikh , Elira Conde

Project Site Location: Savannah, Georgia

Program Brief: To identify the issues in Savannah, Georgia and provide viable solutions for the same. Global issue were to be considered and provide solution for next 50 years.

Design Solution: A vertical self sustainable solution was provided as a prototype that can adress the issue of water rise in future. Various recreation and residential places were in corporated to provide more space under worst conditions of water rise.Four aspects of Economy, education, climate and vegetation were taken into account for proposal. Design strategies provided solution to each issue.

CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT DIAGRAMS Conceptual development by providing circular towers and connecting them on different levels.

Close render of one of the prototype tower proposed to show accessibility through bicycle and pedestrain paths. Green office spaces provided on each floor by extending the roof. Use of mesh to allow more vegetation growth and incorporating ecology.


ARCADIA - FASHION HOUSE

Project Type: Individual Project

Project Site Location: Miami,Florida

Program Brief: To design a atelier and residencial space for fashion designer.

Design Solution: Fashion designer Christian Siriano was selected as fashion designer. The design was done keeping in mind the philosophies he follow for his couture.A center courtyard plays as a gathering area along with bringing plantation in the building as Siriano belives in connection to nature in his designs. Tha Facade is treated in a way that the harsh sun of Miami is not directly affected in the building and resembles to the idea of providing one extra layer to the building as he provides using tulle material in his gowns.

Project Type: Group Project-Kunjal Parikh,Bianca Kibwage,Zilong wang

Project Site Location: Knapps Loch, scotland

Program Brief: To design a house for art lovers in beautiful landscape of Knapps lake. The inspiration of the project being the very well known architect and artist Charles Mackintosh.

Design Solution: The residence is designed considering artist requirements. Inspiration from Charles Mackintosh are reflected through contemporary architecture. providing spaces that are more specific for the Artist such as studio, echibition spaces. Using more sustainable approch for materials at the same time considering the climate of Scotland.

EXHIBITION PASSAGE

The passage is also designed as a exhibition space for the artist to present their work.Living room furniture is designed inspired from Mckintosh.

Project Type: Individual

Project Site Location: Dholera, India

Program Brief: Training center for automobile industry along with commercial and hotel complex.

Design Solution: A Main aim was to design a building which looks as one in-spite of being constituted by three different programs. Considering different user groups hierarchy of spaces is planned according to the usage. Dry construction technique is used considering the typology of building. There are two main entrances in response to the two roads. Central plaza acts as a public area for the zones that are within some radius according to the laws of Dholera. The building gradually increases in height and each terrace is designed to accommodate different activities.

Project Type: Working Drawings

Project Site Location: L.D art college,India

Program Brief: Detail working drawings such as traps and starting point of building execution in site plan. Door window details about the type of window that material and the hardware that were used. Plan including all the detail such as centerline, inter related dimensions, placement of columns and their dimensions, labeling number of door and windows. Terrace detail including details from sand filling to cement mortar ,vata on top. Toilet details including tiling, measurements of all the sanitary equipment, location of pipes and traps. Kitchen details including all the electrical plug points and height of furniture along with spaces for storage.

Housing Studio

Project Type: Individual

Project Site Location: Ahmedabad, India

Program Brief: Spatial planning of different typologies for a township, considering amenities such as basement parking, common gathering space, senior citizen park. Placement of the building according to number of users in confined space such that it functions as a whole new town within itself. 3 And 4 Bhk : Indian families live life in harmony with natural elements such as sunlight, fresh air. Hence, spaces were designed with maximum possible ventilation in all the rooms, living room with balcony acting as a semi open space. Twin Bungalows : Planned in a manner such that the shared wall accommodated the building services. An outer porch area for both sharing house. Villa : Designed specially for high-end living along with various amenities. Green space near living room along with deck accessible from dining area.


CONCEPTUAL MASSING MODEL

Conceptual massing model to design the given number of apartments and villa. The green spaces are design as social gathering spaces and considering different age groups.

COLLABRATIVE PROJECT

Program Brief: To translate the design ideas of a Dior Bridal salon by L.X.F.M SCAD student throuugh architecture spaces and rendering.

Design Solution: The design of Dior as a luxurious store, that justify the client’s requirements. The project was done in collabration to give vision and clear understanding of space to the demanded program. The idea included to make the bride feel like a princess on her special day along with keeping up the class and elegance of the Brand by means of architecture.
