BRIEF: The initial brief was to design a set of a Tableware from the technique of Wooden Jaali Craft, inspired from the Mughal paintings and motifs. Later after studing the craft in depth. Drink Coasters are finalised
About The Craft & Artisans: From the Architecture to Tableware the Wooden Jaali Craft had a long way. Term ‘Jaali’ means mesh work mostly made from wood, stone or metal. What makes this craft unique and authentic is its intricate technique. NIFT conducted a week workshop, where the Delhi based artisans came to introduce us with the intricate craft on carving out patterns on wood and creating Jaali.
Mansur Khan and his younger brother Firoz Khan(bottom) is the third generation of the artisans who are practicing the craft since thier chilhood. They learned the craft from thier father who then later shifted from Lucknow,UP to delhi. Firoz is a National Award winner,his submission of the national award was kept by the President(Pranab Mukherjee).
INSPIRATION:
MUGHAL ART The idea was to incorporate the essence of mughal paintings in the product. Stylised the Mughal Motifs in more Modern and Contemparary Form.
PROCESS/MAKING: General Process: - Selecting & sanding the flat wood - Marking & Cutting of the Wooden Slabs - Drilling the holes according to the design - Carving the Design Pattern - Sanding & Polishing the Wood Intervention: Handpainting the Motifs on the coasters to give it a Contemporary feel.
FINAL OUTCOME:
The Box cum Stand which contains 5 Drink Coasters, mostly suitable for Restraunts and Cafes.
Material: Kadam Wood Polished and Buffed. Handpainted Acrylic Paint. Box Material: Artificial Leather Canvas Fabric Paper Box Box Size: 125mm(width) x 120mm (length) x 45mm(height). Coaster Size: 106mm(daimeter) 4.5mm(thickness).

BRIEF: To Design & Develop a Range of Watches keeping Indian Market in mind, to provide an ELEGANT & COMFORTABLE Experience while wearing it.
About the Brand: Titan Industries was established as a joint venture between the Tata Group & Tamil Nadu Industrial Corporation in 1984. INSPIRATION:
BAGRU BLOCK PRINT (blocks): traditional techniques of printing with natural colour followed by the Chippas of a remote place of Rajasthan.
Design Concept: The concept is to incorporate the BAGRU MOTIFS (block print)in different parts of the Watch such as Dail, Case, Crown etc. The range of 2 watches is inspired from a same motif but stylize in the form of Rekh & the other one is in Datta (wooden blocks used for block print).

BRIEF: To Design & Develop a Modular Bag keeping in mind the different user scenarios.
Client Board: Gender: Men Age Group: 20-35 yrs Keywords: - Adventurous - Experimenting - Sporty
Design Challenge: The challenge was to make a product which can be work as a whole as well as in different parts. Study of different types of bag and its usage was done.
Material and Hardware: Oxford Fabric(Polyster): Water resistant, Lightweight and Durable for longevity. Lining Fabric Side Release Buckel
FINAL CONCEPT:
Debuckel the top and front bottom buckel and can be used as a seprate Sling Bag.
Back Bag Extra Padded for providing strength. 20litres
Back and Middle bag(Laptop case) combined using zip. 35litres
Back, Middle bag(Laptop case) and Front backpack combined using zip. 45litres
The whole bag 50litres.
Front backpack 15litres.
Front backpack and Top Front Sling bag combined 20litres.
3D PROTOTYPE: Modelled in CLO3d, Keeping real proportions in mind.
