June 1 Portage High School Jazz Band & Portage High School Choir The Portage High School Jazz Band and Portage High School Choir will perform several outstanding selections. Both the Jazz Band and the Choir have an endless amount of talent, and we are very proud to have them with us tonight. Enjoy the beautiful music of our local young talents…..

June 8 Madison Malone with Special Guest: John Michael Madison Malone doesn’t shy away from any singing opportunity. The 17-year-old Portage High School junior’s first public appearance was at a fourth grade talent show. “She sang,‘Part of Your World’ from ‘The Little Mermaid,’” her father, Sean Malone said. More recently, Madison sang the Star Spangled Banner at a Mallards game. She has been recording music videos, which can be seen on YouTube. She said she is influenced by singers like Gavin DeGraw, John Legend and Colbie Caillat Madison said,“I’ve been singing since I was 2 (years old).” She added,“I sing trendier songs, but they all tend to have meaning.”

John Michael has been in love with the guitar since before he can remember. His first guitar was found in a trash pile, on a side street, of Fond du Lac, when he was five. Since then he‘s plucked and played, picking things up along the way to give him variance in his playing style. “Follow the events of life, for they will lead you to people and places which will further your inner growth”….. John is very pleased the events of his life have lead him before you this evening. For more info on Madison Malone, contact Sean at 608-742-6754

June 15 The Dang-its The Dang-Its’ approach is roots oriented, emphasizing tight arrangements with clear, soaring vocal harmonies. The band shifts effortlessly from spare and gritty alt-country stories, to jazzy, western swing jump tunes, to whisper-quiet ballads—a stylistic and dynamic sweep that one Madison writer/musician simply described as “Atmospheric.” Their repertoire is definitely off the beaten track and features songs that span a wide range, from the quirky and humorous to powerful portraits of love and loss. Add a few classics and standards along with expertly crafted original music, and The Dang-Its offer a mix that will connect with any audience. For more info, visit www.thedangits.com

The choir’s initial performances were during the 1997 Holiday Season when they presented concerts at American Family’s National Headquarters and the Great Lakes Regional Building, both located in Madison. Since then, many senior and healthcare centers throughout the DaneColumbia County area have enjoyed regular holiday performances by the choir. Special Sunday Presentation At Pauquette Park in Poynette, just off Hwy 51 on Cty Hwy CS, just south of downtown Poynette Presented by the Columbia County Visitor’s Bureau, and brought to you in part by Poynette BP and the Columbia County Economic Development Corporation Desserts served by Poynette United Methodist Church.

Performing an exciting and diverse musical repertoire that preserves our national heritage as Americans, the Air National Guard Band of the Midwest instills patriotism, national pride, and esprit de corps. An integral component of the Air Force’s Public Affairs Triad, the Band of the Midwest performs a vital role in communicating the message and professionalism of today’s United States Air Force and Air National Guard: In the words of General Carl A. Spaatz, the first USAF Chief of Staff,“Public support is as essential to effective air power as industries, airplanes, and airmen,”

Stationed at the Peoria Air National Guard Base and attached to the 182nd Airlift Wing, we serve as musical ambassadors of the Midwest. All of our highly trained musicians are citizen-soldiers, performing with the Air National Guard Band of the Midwest only two days per month, and traveling on a two-week performance tour in the summer.
