NOVEMBER ARTICLE
October’s wrapping up, and the Holidays are coming! Fall is in full swing, and so much is happening: Halloween parties to attend, leaves to rake, and deciding who to vote for locally and nationally! With the days getting shorter and the time change coming up on November 3rd, I want to stay in and start planning all the upcoming festivities. But real estate doesn’t take time off for the Holidays. Sure, it slows down, but there are always active sellers and buyers.
When it comes to selling a home, you can’t always plan ahead. Sometimes, life tells you when to sell. Some reasons are an increase or decrease in family size, death, divorce, health, job transfer, retirement, etc. These reasons don’t always happen to coincide with the peak selling times of the year. The good news is that homes sell all year long. It may take longer during some months, but will happen with proper planning and preparation.
Buyers stand to benefit from home shopping during the slower months. There’s less competition, and sellers are more practical in pricing their homes. Tax-wise, sellers are more motivated to close by the end of the year, and buyers also benefit from the write-offs involved in the home purchase.
I am preparing two homes for sale: 2115 Damuth St., Oakland, and 958 Village Circle, Oakland. The home on Damuth St. is a super cute 2/1 Craftsman in the Dimond District with a large backyard. Village Circle is a 3/2 home built in 1999 and located in West Oakland, close to downtown. Both are being polished and shined and will be move-in ready.
If you’re curious about how the season impacts the market and why this might be the perfect time to buy or sell. Let’s meet and discuss your specific situation. Who knows, you might be in a new home by the end of the year!
