Projects located in the Province (Free State) implemented by the National Department of Public Works and Infrastructure got the much needed spotlight during the month June 2023.

The two projects in question were the Parys Correctional Facility and the Park Road Police Station in Bloemfontein. In this regard, the Free State MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure, Dibolelo Mance, accompanied the Minister for Public Works and Infrastructure, Sihle Zikalala, on these sites to conduct oversight after it was reported that, work was not as envisaged towards the completion of work.

“Minister Zikalala has prioritised unblocking the blocked projects and driving accountability as part of the efforts to turn around the public works and infrastructure sector and respond to service delivery needs,” read a statement from the Minister’s Office.
