Ehlanzeni TVET College
Ehlanzeni TVET College falls under Ehlanzeni District Municipality constituted of Mbombela, Bushbuckridge, Thaba Chweu and Nkomazi Local Municipalities.
The College is made of eight sites, seven Campuses and a central office. The Campuseses are Mapulaneng Campus located in Bushbuckridge Local Municipality, Mthimba Campus, Nelspruit Campus, Barberton Campus and Kanyamazane Campus all located in the Mbombela Local Municipality, Mashishing Campus is located in Thaba Chweu Local Municipality and Mlumati Campus that is located in Nkomazi Local Municipality.

The Central Office also refered to as the Corporate Centre is situated at 29 Bell Street, Nelspruit. This is at the centre of Nelspruit/Mbombela, the capital City of the Mpumalanga Province. Nelspruit is located on the Crocodile River and lies about 110 kilometres by road west of the Mozambique Lebombo border, 330 kilometres east of Johannesburg, and about 82km and 106 km North of the Mananga and Matsamo border gates to the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Ehlanzeni offers a range of technical and vocational training programmes within its qualification mix. The programmes offered could best be classified into two main categories within the Post School Education and Training namely the Ministerial Programmes and the Occupational Programmes with the Mnisterial Programmes covering the Report 191 Programmes popularly known as Nated Programmes and the National Certificate Vocational Programmes (NCV).
All the College programmes are designed to enhance employment of any nature be it formal employment or self-employment as they all integrate theory and practice.

PARTNERS
The business nature of the college requires the fostering of partnerships with the purpose of ensuring that the products are holistically development to confront the world of work. To this effect the College established a Business Development and Innovation Unit linked to the Academic Unit with a purpose of dealing with the Occupationally directed programmes. Amongst he responsibilities of the Unit is the establishment of partnerships with various stakeholders which in the main are industries, government departments and otherbig businesses within the catchment area of the College.

PLANNING AHEAD FOR GREATER HEIGHTS
The College held its strategic planning conference on Wednesday, 01 June 2022 and Thursday, 02 June 2022 at Pine Lake Inn, White River. The aim of the conference was to reflect on previously taken resolutions, make amendments and to plan for the next coming years as required by the Department of Higher Education and Training. The final College’ Strategic Plan document is signed by the College Principal, Chairperson of College Council and then submitted to the Minister.
Amongst the attendees of the onference was College Council members, SRC President and Secretary General, College Senior Management and Management Board. The attendance was exceptional except for the absence of the DDG; Mr S Zungu, who tendered his apology and whose presentation was done on the second day of the conference.
Dr GM Sibiya was offered the opportunity to be the programme director for th sessions. Dr F Yende, the Council Chairperson, opened the Conference with words of encouragement and positivity towards the conference. During her address, she made emphasis on compliance to approved policies and encouraged good financial oversight that will improve the College’s audit outcomes. She brought to the house the importance of Council Committees and encouraged professional interactions between committee members and staff.
Dr Yende mentioned that it is always impossible to criticise something that you are part of, referring to Council members who participate in the College’s day to day activities. Dr Yende stressed corruption will never be tolerated and she appreciated the recent positive academic performance by the College. Before she concluded her address, Dr Yende urged that members actively participate for the conference to be a fruitful one.
The College Principal, Mr EM Mbuyane presented the overview of the onference. As he was about to make his address, Mr Mbuyane informed Council and members present that the College has successfully reviewed the SRC Constitution and the SRC elections took place. He introduced the newly elected SRC President, Mr T Sibiya and the Secretary Ms N Nkosi to the house. In the presence of SRC President and Secretary, he advised membersto refrain from abusing access to College council but follow the correct protocols.
It was addressed to members that the College’ Strategic Plan should be in line with the Department’s Strategic Plan and it should complement the agreement between the President of the country and the Minister of the department. The Principal also requested full participation because the Strategic Plan document is outlining the guidelines for the College’s Operational Plan and the Annual Performance Plan that has to be adhered to from that point going forward. The final plan will be signed by Deliberations to the Strategic Plan started after Mr Mbuyane’s overview. Ms A Mayosi, Deputy Principal: Corporate Services and Mr MT Lukhele, Acting Deputy Principal: Academic were leading the deliberations. Council and staff members actively and positively contributed in all parts of the deliberations. The discussions and amendments on the existing Strategic Plan were concluded effectively and with efficiency.
Campus Managers made their Programme Quality Mix presentations on before the conclusion of the conference. The PQM was aimed at informing Council and Senior Management of the College of the existing programmes offered at campuses and those programmes that are to be introduced in future.
The conference was officially concluded by Prof. JP Shongwe, Council Deputy Chairperson, who appreciated verybody’s participation that ensured the success of the session and wished everyone a safe journey as they travelled to different destinations.
