I am so lucky to have gone to such an amazing university.
Internship: Arc of Dallas The Arc of Dallas is a non-profit that seeks to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and related developmental disabilities.
Every summer, ExxonMobil chooses 75 non-profits throughout Dallas and funds the salary of an intern of the particular non-profits choice. April Allen, former director of the childrens camps at the Arc, hired me as her intern for the summer of 2009. As the intern, some days I would work in the office where various PR duties were assigned to me. I booked in-house entertainment for each Monday of camp, for two different locations. I also wrote the program for Art and Ability, which is an annual fundraiser for the Arc.
I also spent a lot of handson time with the kids and staff at the various camps. I helped with swim days and field trips, and was in charge of making sure each camp always had the toys, snacks and supplies that were needed.

EXPERIENCE:
The Daily O’ Collegian; August, 2010, Stillwater, OK Began as a general assignment reporter, writing about various activities and events going on around the community. Currently serve as the Spears School of Business reporter and write about news that comes from the Business School The Arc of Dallas, Summer 2009-2010, Dallas, TX In the summer of 2009, worked as an intern for the non-profit, but specifically worked with the children’s coordinator, helping organize the summer “Adventure Camp”. In the summer of 2010, worked as a full-time staff counselor for one of the “Adventure Camps”. Helped to improve the quality of life for the children with disabilities. Applebee’s Restaurant, Summer 2008, December 2008, Carrollton, TX · Began as a car-side server, improving quality of customer service and trained newly hired employees. · Ended as a server, improved customer service with an outgoing attitude and ability to work fast.
