KYLEE ANN
OWNER OF KYLEE ANN STUDIOS I started Kylee Ann Studios 11 years ago and have since grown from a one woman amateur show to a full associate team of women. About 6 years in, I discovered brand photography and never looked back. As a busy mom of 3, the brand photography schedule was the life for me. I work with brands all over the world from my backyard studio, and make 5x as much money with all my nights and weekends free for my family. And I teach photographers (like you) to do the same!

MY STORY When I started Kylee Ann Photography over 11 years ago, I was shooting everything from weddings to families to births. After years of hustling nights and weekends, I realized I was starting to miss my kid's soccer games and nights with my family. And something had to change. I had TWO options. Cut back and just take great pictures of my kids for fun or transition to shooting brands and work during the day during school hours instead. It was then and there that I committed to being a brand photographer. My business quickly went from nights and weekends, to 102 four days a week for a consistent, amazing paychecks monthly...even in the slow season. After I niched into commercial photography: - I filled up my calendar monthly with repeating clients instead of constantly having to market for new business - I made 4 then 5 figures every month, even during slow season - I stopped missing soccer games, and kept my work hours within my big kid's school schedules - I made paychecks and was able to shoot products EVEN and ESPECIALLY during a global pandemic

#1 CONSISTENT INCOME
#2 UNCAPPED EARNING POTENTIAL
If you've been a photographer for awhile, you know that income can be very inconsistent. Every photographer has a "busy season" and a "slow season." You have to great at managing your money! But even then if you're not booking well in slow season for the next busy season it can get scary.
Not only will you have more consistent work and income, but the potential is uncapped. You can work as much or as little as you want.
I used to be completely DEAD in January, but this year it was one of my busiest months ever with 12-15 shoots per week.
If you need more clients, you have more control than as a lifestyle photographer. There are SO MANY BRANDS that need great photography ALL of the time. Especially in the digital age we live in. And the best part is: it's not limited to where you live.
#3 CONTROLLED HOURS & SCHEDULE
#5 SAME CLIENTS MONTHLY
You control when you work and where you work. It is up to you to set a schedule instead of matching up with your clients' schedules.
I have created amazing relationships with my brand clients because I get to work with them all of the time. For some it's quarterly, others monthly and a handful I get to work with weekly. I have made some of my best friends this way. It's so nice to work with other business owners that are ambitious and hardworking.
Personally I work while my kids are in school, but some of my students work on weekends or nap time.
#4 IT'S SO FUN One of my models told me that brand shoots at the studio are like an exclusive mom club that everyone wants to be apart of. We have so much fun talking about motherhood, brands and life during our commercial shoots. It allows me to have a social life while working a lot simultaneously. I LOVE getting to know so many amazing people, and having so much interaction with other people daily. You get to create whatever "club" you want whether its focused on babies, kids, moms, women, men, etc.
Not to mention, it's so much better to have ONE client that comes monthly than 12 clients that come once a year. It's a consistent paycheck, schedule and makes it easier on me to understand and shoot for each brand. You just need a few clients to be successful.
#6 WORK IN COMFY CLOTHES
I traded in my pumps and pencil skirts for joggers and yoga pants. A much more comfortable work uniform after 6 years as a wedding photographer.
#7 IT'S ALL BUSINESS INSTEAD OF PERSONAL Nothing is personal anymore. You're not dealing with insecurities or emotions, which can sometimes make wedding and family photography very difficult. Everything is business. If you need to change colors on an edit, it's to better match the brand. It's so much easier to re-shoot or re-edit when its a business move vs an emotional move.
#8 SPOIL OLD CLIENTS OR FRIENDS I LOVE that my clients, friends and neighbors get free pictures and free clothes or accessories all of the time. I get to spoil them, and the brand pays for it.
#9 SO MUCH CREATIVITY Brand photography challenges me in a way that shooting for clients could never challenge me. I can be creative with how I put products together, lighting, colors and so much more.
USE THE 3PS TO GROW Growing a brand business is as easy as P-P-P. Pick the genre, build your portfolio, pitch and repeat.
P PICK A GENRE
Decide what you actually want to shoot. What type of companies, what type of products? Do you want to do small scale, large scale
P
BUILD A PORTFOLIO Build a very specific portfolio for the genre that you picked. Start with JUST one genre.
P
PITCH TO BRANDS Most brands don't know that they need you, and they also don't know where to find you. You can reach out to them and tell them what they need and how you're going to give it to them. It's as simple as that.
IT SEEMS SIMPLE BUT... It really is as easy as P-P-P. 1. Pick a genre. One specific genre to start with. 2. Build a portfolio in that genre. Make a list of companies within that genre. 3. And pitch.
BUT PITCHING IS HARD.. I know, I know. Pitching is the short-term goal. I hate it too. And that's why I also teach you how to grow organically in my course. But I have all the resources in the Complete Brand Photography Class to make pitching easier on you that I wish I had all those years ago. My course has a class dedicated to these 3 Ps -- picking a genre, building a portfolio + how to display it on a landing page, how to find brands and how to pitch. Plus, all the other stuff too ;) Bonus resources: - a list of genre ideas to pick from - email templates to make pitching easy - a 14 day pitch challenge to put ALL of the 3 Ps together and getting you pitching in two weeks
"So I just want to re-watch the part of your course on pitching. I thought I had tried to write a personalized email with my past pitches, but after watching the course a second time and dissecting my own pitch all over again, I rewrote it and sent off a new pitch to a new potential client on Etsy. I heard back within minutes and she was really interested and asked more questions. Crossing my fingers."
"The course is amazing. I watched it all in one day. I did two shoots and I have another one scheduled." "I have nine different paid commercial shoots and subscriptions." "I've watched it three times in a month and I'm booking slowly but consistently from my website organically."
