Alan grew up surfing the famed right handers of the Lennox Point and the surrounding pristine waves of the Northern NSW area, Australia. Any spare time that Al had out of the water as a grommet was spent learning all aspects of shaping, design and the production process within the Surfboard Industry. This coupled with the vast amount of Australasian Pro Junior, WQS and CT surfers riding Al’s boards, has helped Alan refine his shapes, contours and rockers to an extremely high level producing boards that are suitable for all levels of surfing and wave types.

INTRODUCTION
T H E FAC TO RY
Since opening in 2006, Al’s Byron Bay factory has gone from strength to strength. Over 4 years Al has built the company at an extraordinary rate while keeping the core values of Emery Surfboards as his number one priority... Quality and modern design! When not buried in the bay Al can be found experimenting with cutting edge materials, trolling the internet for new technologies or spitting out twisted frames and outlines for the team to play with and comment on. The factory is a hive of activity with 9 full time staff and a plethora of contractors such as MOTORCITYBREAKDOWN a design company that prides itself on aesthetics and was responsible for the immediately recognizable triple stripe E logo. Sprays and full deck decals are also contracted out to industry leaders with limitless possibilities for artwork as well as numerous other processes involved in finishing a board, keeping Al’s focus purely on design. Being based in such a pristine environment Emery Surfboards are very conscious on carbon imprints and plan to be 100% solar powered by 2011 as well as constantly researching and utilising environmentally friendly products within the design and production process.
3
The in house AKU Shaper is continuously producing accurate, high quality pre-shapes which are then meticulously scrutinised and refined by Al’s experienced hands creating a top end product. The AKU shaper technology is revolutionising the surfboard industry and benefits all, from professionals to every day surfers by keeping a library of each individual board file allowing customers to refine and tweak their boards at the drop of a hat. Through all these mediums Emery is building an international brand that is already recognised by surfers throughout the globe. Shipping and tuning boards to suit specific regions such as Japan, Indonesia and the USA the demand for Emery Surfboards on an international platform is constantly expanding. Emery’s HQ has a young, energetic vibe where local surfers, artists and other creative characters gather and collaborate, creating circumstantial evolution within the design aesthetic process. Al’s ears are always open. The future of Emery Surfboards is set to dominate with upcoming apparel, signature fins, grip and accessories all pushed throughout it’s leading website and social media outlets. The Emery machine is in constant motion.

EMERY TECHNOLOGIES The Core The EPS core is high density EPS - expanded polystyrene - foam with a similar density to your regular PU foam blank. The main advantage of the EPS core is that is has a high strength to weight ratio and good compression stability. This prolongs the life of the core.

DESCRIPTION
E POXY
A fused expanded polystyrene blank with an epoxy outer shell creates a stronger more buoyant surfboard without sacrificing any performance. Can be ordered in any EMERY model or custom shaped.

BLUE
EMERY TECHNOLOGIES The Core The EPS core is high density EPS - expanded polystyrene - foam with a similar density to your regular PU foam blank. The main advantage of the EPS core is that is has a high strength to weight ratio and good compression stability. This prolongs the life of the core.
The Parabolic high density woven Fiber Frame The “BLUE” fiber frame is designed to maximise speed and drive whilst maintaining a flex pattern that flows with the wave. The structural design of the frame minimises twisting of the board, which results in a very lively and responsive flex pattern. You will feel the board responding to your surfing much quicker, which results in more speed and drive when you need it.
TEC HNOLOGY DECAL
BLUE
The Parabolic high density foam stringer Extruded polystyrene EPS foam stringers give the board a stiffer flex while distributing any twist evenly throughout the board enabling you to draw cleaner lines. In between having a timber stringer and no stringer at all the “BLUE” option gives the pop of an EPS core without sacrificing strength.
B LU E DESCRIPTION
Exclusive to Emery, “BLUE” technology creates a lighter more responsive board without sacrificing strength. The “BLUE” is the most visually striking board in the Emery range. Can be ordered in any EMERY model or custom shaped.

EMERY TECHNOLOGIES The Core The EPS core is high density EPS - expanded polystyrene - foam with a similar density to your regular PU foam blank. The main advantage of the EPS core is that is has a high strength to weight ratio and good compression stability. This prolongs the life of the core.
The lapped carbon Fiber base and frame The total Carbon fiber wrap of the base and frame is designed to maximise speed and drive whilst maintaining a flex pattern that flows with the wave. The design of the frame minimises twisting of the board resulting in a poppy response.
TECHNOLOGY DECAL
SHUTTLE
The deck Constructed from a Carbon Kevlar (similar to the technology used in NASSA shuttles). Added strength and memory increases flex throughout the board while creating a extra tough shell for your EPS core.
DESCRIPTION
Technologically the most advance board in the range. The carbon kevlar deck and the carbon rails / base wrapped around an epoxy blank create a far stronger, faster board with loads of spring throughout the flex patterns.

30
FIBERFLEX
The Core The EPS core is high density EPS - expanded polystyrene - foam with a similar density to your regular PU foam blank. The main advantage of the EPS core is that is has a high strength to weight ratio and good compression stability. This prolongs the life of the core and when combined with the parabolic carbon fiber frame and epoxy laminate your surfboard will maintain its liveliness longer that a PU surfboard.
FIBERFLEX
The Epoxy Laminate The epoxy laminate is the final process in manufacturing the board. It is glassed very similarly to a standard PU surfboard only that we use a high quality, UV resistant epoxy resin system. The epoxy resin system creates a highly flexible laminate, resilient to cracking and fracturing and has a flexural life span 2-3 times a polyester resin. The FiberFlex also uses a Quad Axial fibreglass cloth configuration to transfer load from the surfers feet out to the carbon fiber frame whilst maximising flex and strength through the lamination.
The Parabolic Carbon Fiber Frame The key to the flex pattern of the FiberFlex boards is the parabolic carbon fiber frame that is constructed within the laminate. The carbon fiber frame is designed to maximise speed and drive whilst maintaining a flex pattern that flows with the wave. The structural design of the frame minimises twisting of the board, which results in a very lively and responsive flex pattern. You will feel the board responding to your surfing much quicker, which results in more speed and drive when you need it.
Durability and Repairs FiberFlex boards are constructed using the latest high performance materials. This does not prevent the board from breakage or compressions. If damage occurs, dry out all water from the EPS core before repairing with EPOXY resins ONLY! Do Not leave your board in direct sunlight or in a hot confined space ie. Car.
DESCRIPTION
The FiberFlex EPS is a completely custom surfboard shaped out of high density EPSÂ foam with a parabolic carbon fiber frame to create a board with a high energy, rapid spring back resulting in ultimate speed and drive.
