This year is already spinning, the album has been announced and is going to be called «Golden» ... Four years after her last album, Kylie has finally announced the release of her 14th studio album for this spring and a single really soon ! What a great start of 2018 ! And we are also delighted because we will finally be able to talk to you about recent stuff and have a little more news in our magazine. On this month’s program, you will find an analysis of the rumors we saw on «Golden», and what should be the first single «Dancing», a great focus on «Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi», all about the promo of Swinging Safari and much more! STEP BACK IN TIME
JANUARY 1987 - 2018 What Do I Have To Do 01/21/1991 « What Do I Have To Do » is from Kylie’s third album, Rhythm Of Love. The song was written and produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman, and was originally due to come out after «Better The Devil You Know». However « Step Back In Time » was released in the meantime. There are three promo mixes of the song. The early unreleased first version is synth orientated and has multilayered vocals. Much of the synth was omitted and the drums, bass and vocals were toned down for the second album version. The third version, the 7» Mix, contains a newer drum track, multilayered vocals in the chorus and relies much less on the synthesizers than on the album version. This version of the song also contains samples from American comedian Sam Kinison, and was used for the music video.
Give Me Just A Little More Time 01/13/1992 « Give Me Just A Little More Time » is a cover of Chairmen Of The Board’s song, released in 1970. Kylie’s version, released in 1992, appeared in a watch advertisement for the brand Accurist . This is one of the last tracks recorded for her fourth album «Let’s Get To It» and «Do You Dare» is the b-side of the single. Pete Waterman stated : « I went to bed, and, and I literally was in bed thinking of all these records that I had in my life [...] I was going through the library mentally thinking, what song would she never have done that we could do that was just a great song. And one of my favorite songs was Chairman of the Board’s « Give Me Just a Little More Time ». Waterman then got up in the middle of the night, ran downstairs to find the track and the next morning played the song to Kylie.
Bio-Dome 01/12/1996 Bio-Dome is an American comedy released in 1996 and directed by Jason Bloom. Environmental protection experiments are conducted at the Bio-Dome Center in the Arizona Desert. Scientists participating in these experiments must remain locked in the center for a whole year. But Bud and Doyle, who thoughg the center was a supermarket and walked in, are given no choice and taken in as accidental prisoners by the scientists. The film stars Stephen Baldwin and Pauly Shore, and has cameo appearances by celebrities such as Roger Clinton, Kylie Minogue, Patricia Hearst, and Rose McGowan. 4 www.kylie-world.com

Your Disco Needs You 01/22/2001 Your Disco Needs You is a song from Kylie’s «Light Years» album, released in 2000. The song was written by the singer, alongside Guy Chambers and Robbie Williams, and was produced by Chambers and Steve Power. The b-side is «Password». The song ranked in the top 40 in Australia, Switzerland and Germany and was very popular, despite the fact that it was never released as a single in England. Kylie now sings this song in most of her concerts, and this is a reference for the fans.
Into The Blue 01/27/2014
First extract of «Kiss Me Once», «Into The Blue» came out faster than expected following a leak on the internet. Written by Kelly Sheehan, Jacob Kasher, and Mike Del Rio and produced by the latter, the song was recorded in London for Kylie’s 45th birthday, and was played exclusively on BBC Radio 2 on January 27 before being available on all download platforms. The lyrics may echo her break with Andrés Velencoso and speak about the fact of being happy, independent and fulfilled. Compared to the lead singles from Kylie’s previous albums, it was a moderate commercial success on the charts, even if it reached the top ten in Ireland and Japan, and component charts in Australia, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Right Here Right Now 01/20/2015 «Right Here Right Now» was released on January 20, 2015, as a single for Giorgio Moroder’s album, entitled «Déjà Vu». The song unfortunately leaked on the internet on January 16th, hence an imminent release thereafter. Produced by Giorgio Moroder and Patrick Jordan-Patrikios and written by Moroder, Patrick Jordan-Patrikios, Karen Poole and David Etherington, «Right Here Right Now» had no real success in the charts, but touched our hearts, us the fans! The song was performed on stage only once or twice, and that was in Sydney, at the Kiss Me Once Tour. 5 www.kylie-world.com

JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUOI Kylie had been selling records steadily for months, so no one was really expecting a 4th top 5 single. But, surprisingly, and even though her next single Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi, was a track from her first album named « KYLIE » - released 3 months before the single - the song worked really well. Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi, which is known as Pete Waterman’s favourite Kylie single ever, is sophisticated and melancholic. It was recorded in London in April 1988 and was released as a single in October 1988 (UK). It would be the last single to be released in Europe from the album KYLIE. In the next pages, you’ll find out why the single was renamed « I Still Love You (Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi) » in some countries, where the inspiration for the video came from and everything you’d possibly want to know about the song, including charts positions. We’ll also briefly talk about Made In Heaven, you’ll find out why.

Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi is a pop ballad song written by Stock, Aitken and Waterman. This single has a much more downbeat theme than Kylie’s previous 3 singles, the sound is more sophisticated and it makes Kylie sound more mature (she also looks more mature in the video). Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi was a classy choice and it allowed Kylie to show a little more range than her previous releases. It was the 1 st « dance floor ballad » of her career.
Initially PWL wanted to release Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi as a double-A side with Made In Heaven (which is why both titles are written on most covers). Indeed this was a marketing tactic: to heavily promote Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi during the single’s early chart run, and once the song had peaked, the single would be officially « flipped » and promo would be done on Made In Heaven, which would then become the A-side (this had been done with Rick Astley’s singles « When I Fall In Love » and « My Arms Keep Missing You ». Robert Doisneau’s photograph Despite the video looking like it was filmed in Paris (which is done on purpose of course) filming took place in the Channel 7 Studios of Melbourne, Australia. The video starts by showing Kylie, very fifties style with her hair set in waves, waiting outside in a « Parisian » street on a stormy and rainy evening, umbrella in her hand. She’s wearing a grey/blue-ish strapless rayon twill dress with sweetheart neckline as well as a matching angora cardigan.
Kylie is the only colourful part of the dancing scene of the chorus: the street and the man she’s dancing with are all black and white (like the photo from Robert Doisneau). She is wearing a floral vintage dress and red headband. The second verse takes place in the café again (but nothing happens except she takes her cardigan off when it’s freezing and raining lol) and the second chorus is again a dancing scene. The I-IIIIIIIIIII part shows Kylie at the bottom left of the screen, wearing a white frilly dress and behind her, the dancing scene fully in black and white. For the last verse, she steps out of the café and wanders around the street (it’s not raining anymore) before stopping in front of a black and white poster of Arthur Rimbaud, with the words « Je t’aime » painted in red on it. Then until the end, it’s the dancing scene, but this time, everything is in black and white including Kylie.

PROMO : SWINGING SAFARI
Swinging Safari will be released in a few days in Australia, so we decided to make a complete focus on the promotion that took place in Sydney and Melbourne last month. Photo : the whole cast of the movie
Kylie and Guy Pearce, a big story... Thirty years ago (yes, already), Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce, both young actors, met on the set of the hit series in Australia: Neighbours. With this success, the two artists have developed their careers on their own (careers that have worked very well so far!) without crossing each other’s paths at any point, well, for work purposes anyway, until Swinging Safari... In 2012, Guy Pearce talked back on his debut, his first big role and his meeting with Kylie Minogue:
« There is not a lot of work in Australia! And it was my first serious job. I was nervous, I just played in school plays! But it is true that new actors arrive every week and that some have even come back several times to play different roles. Kylie Minogue was also part of the cast ... I worked with her for three months. She was super funny ». Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce met each other again in 2014 on the set of the Grand Journal, one to talk about her album « Kiss Me Once » and perform two live tracks, and the other for the film « The Rover », at the Cannes Film Festival. At that time, « Swinging Safari » was already in the pipes and the two actors were informed. Yes, it took four years from the completion of the project to filming the movie.

Many reviews warn us that the film itself is at least ten times crazier than the promotional elements that we have seen ... We can’t wait !
The protagonist of the film, Jeff (a semi-autobiographical version of Stephan Elliott), a fourteen year old teenager, has two obsessions in life: movies, and the neighbour’s daughter: Melly. The story unfolds from his point of view, but the screen time is split more or less equally between the three families. When the beach town suddenly hits the spotlight after the body of a 200-ton whale is washed ashore, Jeff and Melly think it’s the biggest thing that ever happened in their lives. Meanwhile, their eccentric parents are catching up with the sexual revolution that has also washed up on Australia’s beaches. And just like the decaying whale, it’s all about to go spectacularly wrong.

Swinging Safari : the promo in Sydney and Melbourne To promote the film that will be released in Australia on January 18th, Kylie Minogue made it to two premieres in Sydney on December 12th and in Melbourne on the 14th. She also gave some interviews and did a photoshoot with the film crew. Let’s have a look back on these moments.
• Sydney (December 12th, 2017) Kylie went to the Sydney Swinging Safari premiere at Guy Pearce’s arms in a long pale pink dress by Temperley London. An appearance well noticed because we hadn’t seen Kylie on a red carpet for a long time, and even more with Guy Pearce. In an interview with Yahoo, the singer admitted « it was very « nostalgic » working with Guy again and it was great to « reconnect ». Some questions of future roles in the cinema were also mentioned, Kylie declared :
« I definitely loved it. I always get a little bit terrified because I don’t do it very often but, on the other hand, I feel home ».

• The Project (December 13th, 2017) The duo of actors also went on the set of « The Project », to talk about the film and their reunion. They talked about the « behind the scenes » of the filming, including the fact that before filming, they all waste a lot of time looking at the scene, because they compared all the objects that had marked their youth. At the end of the show, Kylie took the time to greet the fans who were waiting outside the studio. And we will notice the politeness and good manners of Australians people : everyone went on a line and waited for the other to finish before taking his picture, all everyone was saying « Hi » and « Thank You » to Kylie. Compared to what we have seen coming from some French people, it gives us faith in humanity.
• Melbourne (December 14th, 2017) A second preview was held in Melbourne on December 14th. Kylie made a lovely appearance in an Alice McCall’s two-piece dress. Once again, she gave some interviews and had a special passion for technology, because a journalist had a microphone on a selfie stick, and Kylie found it fantastic, comparing it with the cigarette holder. Very few interviews appeared after this preview, most being made for local radio and media, but the inside information is the same as Kylie said in Sydney and on « The Project ».
Critics Some journalists have already seen the film, so some critics appeared on the internet. And the good news is they are rather very positive and make us want to see the movie! Some critics have even stated that Kylie really impressed them, playing her role to perfection. Variety : « This nicely written and very well performed story thread suffers only from its relative brevity in the overall scheme of things. Reuniting with producer Al Clark and many other key “Priscilla” collaborators, Elliott elevates his rowdy and raucous tale with the help of Lizzy Gardiner’s magnificently garish period costumes, Colin Gibson’s supremely kitschy production design and a zingy score by Guy Gross. Art director Jodie Whetter and set decorator Justine Dunn must have had a ball trawling through thrift shops for items like Perkins Paste, a long-disappeared brand of non-toxic Australian adhesive that was famous for being eaten by schoolchildren ». Screen Space : « Elliott seems to hold true affection for this time and place; despite its high-pitched shrillness, Swinging Safari is his warmest, funniest and most likable film since …Priscilla ». Joy949 (Tweet) : « Kylie Minogue (who we interviewed, dunno if I mentioned that) is EXCELLENT in Swinging Safari btw - it’s definitely an ensemble comedy but she plays against type and goes into all sorts of wonderfully dark places ». NEWS Kylie Minogue at the launch of the Australian Music Vault On december 16th, after her promo for Swinging Safari and before spending the holidays with her family, Kylie went to launch the Australian Music Vault, described as a celebration of the Australian contemporary music story – past, present and future. Our beautiful Australian, one of the founding patrons, took part in the event alongside Tina Arena, Michael Gudinski and Molly Meldrum. She also came to this event with her parents, Ron and Carol. Over the years, the singer has built up a long relationship with the Arts Centre, whose Performing Arts Museum houses many of her most famous outfits, including Charlene’s overalls from Neighbours and the gold hotpants from the Spinning Around video.
« I’ve been giving the Arts Centre a lot of my costumes for a few years now and we’ve had a few exhibitions, but I’m really excited to be a part of the Australian Music Vault because people can celebrate the history of our music industry,” Minogue said. “And it’s free, which is amazing. »
The Music Vault is expected to open late most nights and features items from artists as diverse as Daryl Braithwaite, Archie Roach, Nick Cave, INXS, Men at Work, Split Enz, Peter Allen, Johnny O’Keefe, Paul Kelly, Urthboy, Chrissy Amphlett, Midnight Oil, Missy Higgins, the Seekers and Skyhooks. 5 New Year resolutions for 2018
We all know that New Year means New Year Resolutions. Even if we take less and less of them because we all know that we will not hold onto them (this issue comes out on January 14th, and we already know that you have not respected half of what you promised at the beginning of the month), we decided to make a list of the five New Year resolutions that us, Kylie fans, should stick to this year. After all, it’s never too late to start!
1 Get back to the sport
4 Keep a little notebook
Yes yes yes, we all know that during the year end, we all enjoyed some good food and alcohol. So of course now, it’s difficult to zip up your jeans. If it’s always hard to go back to the gym, especially with this cold and shitty weather, we found a good reason to stay motivated : put Kylie’s songs in your ears. Of course, choose the right songs, «Sleeping with the enemy» will not make you sweat (especially if you were dumped during this period).
This is something that I do every year: keep a little notebook with me in which I note down the good times I had or the positive stuff that happened to me during the day. It may seem stupid, but at the end of the year, when you read it again, you will remember everything and you will see that finally you are lucky and have spent some great time with your friends, that you have traveled, that you have had good news ... It is very useful to keep things in perspective and to stay positive.
2 Start saving Even if we are broke because of Christmas and the sales period has just begun, it is the perfect time to start saving for Kylie’s next concerts. We all tend to think there’s still plenty of time left to save, but that’s not true, especially since the new era is really here. You will see, it will be much easier to plan your concerts with a little savings aside, and in addition you will save later on the transports if you don’t book your travel at the last minute !
3 Re-decorate your interior Fed up with your interior? It may be time to re-decorate and create a real cocoon! Futhermore, Kylie watches over you and your comfort (but little less on your wallet) and many items are available for your home - mainly for your bedroom and your living room! To respect Kylie, her work and her team, please do not share links to the first single or the new Kylie album. Do not forget that all of this can hurt her and make her flop in the charts, both in terms of sales and streamings. And when an artist doesn’t sell enough, there are fewer concerts dates, less promo and therefore less opportunity to see her... We want to thank you because most of you respect that, but it was just a quick reminder. A new era is on its way ! It’s finally official. Kylie Minogue will release her new album «Golden» in the spring of 2018. The first single called «Dancing», is due to be released in a few days. Since a lot of information has been leaking lately, we decided to come back to come back on the rumors, in order to provide you with an overview.
We would have liked to find it out in a different way, like with an official annoucement from Kylie herself. But it is by opening the social networks that we discovered the name of Kylie’s new album with a preview of the release date following a post from Lucky Records. Seeing the information spreading everywhere on the internet, the singer finally confirmed it a little later in the evening with a tweet:
From this brief message came numerous articles from the media, announcing the song « Dancing » as the first single of the album. It is expected to come out by the end of the month, some people have already heard it and announce a song similar to « Anywhere » by Rita Ora, with an acoustic guitar. At the time we are writing these words (January 14th), the whole song has leaked as well as the full lyrics of the song. Of course, many rumors appeared on the internet, some completely wrong while some others sounded a little more possible. Kylie Minogue should be present on season three of « RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars », whose main theme is «Gold». Some people see her as the jury, others see her coming to present « Dancing » in live before an official release. This show is a Drag Queen competition, and the teaser, completely full of gold, has been unveiled. Rumors also said that Kylie was present to film some stuff there but it is still just a talk of the town ... The first broadcast of the show is scheduled for January 25th, a Thursday, which coincides perfectly with the release of the lead single on a Friday ...
It also seems that official remixes are planned for the single, single, and that’s very good news, because we know you all love mixes! It can also help to push radios for a «young» public to play the song. Kylie is supposed to come for promo in Paris on January 16th and 17th, of course that has also not been officially confirmed. Some people talked about posters in the French capital, but but I’m parisian, and I haven’t seen any of these anywhere.. The image that unveiled the name of the album is probably from an email from the record company that sent the listening link to «Golden» before her various interviews. Regarding the album, from the little we know, the majority of the songs are co-written with Kylie. The name « Golden » also refers to the fact that Kylie will be 50 years old this year. And if we remember well, the elements (which we still do not know the meaning of) were gold, and the photo used for the Night Fever’s promo also ... Maybe some of these photos will be used for the cover of the album !

Jumping to 2002 and Kylie is seen rocking this D&G I think it is number at a party for her Fever Tour! A cap with a safe to say Roman inspired outfit... not many people could pull that when that off but Kylie was rocking it! people hear the words Kylie and Gold the first image that comes into their head is of course those 50p hotpants from her 2000 music video for Spinning Around ... yep iconic!

As the Aphrodite era was in full swing Minogue provided us with many amazing visuals including the video for Get Outta My Way. A stand outfit from this has to be the dress made from gold chains! Apparently this dress actually weight more than forever tiny Kylieconsidering that she wore it very well!
And the gold sequins didn’t stop there! Kylie stunned again in 2012 at the Royal Variety Performance in a beautiful Julien Macdonald dress. In 2015 Kylie took to her Instagram to post about some showtime spaghetti in Italy, all while wearing a stunning sequin gown- that’s one way to make spaghetti look glamorous!
With Aphrodite came the unforgettable Les Folies tour and of course this had to involve some gold Aphrodite’s gold bodice that Kylie has on for the whole show. Living up to the golden girl title!
We are ending this piece with a celebration- yes the outfit from Kylie’s 2015 summer tour, the show stopping golden jumpsuit !
2012 didn’t disappoint when it came to the golden attire either. Kylie stole the show in this breath taking floor length sparkling gown at the Cannes Film Festival.
