Notes NAHS, a classic example of adaptive re-use, “the first of its kind in Atlanta”, sits on a 56-acre ruggedly wooded campus with two instructional buildings (one 12-stories) that include state-of-the-art competition gymnasium, black box theatre, 600-seat traditional theatre with orchestra pit and catwalk, and an 8-car elevator system. The campus houses three practice fields, three tennis courts, and a four-story parking garage. Students are offered a rigorous academic program organized by grade-level academies, and four career paths. NAHS’s IB program is the oldest in the Southeast, and offers AP courses. With a graduation rate of over 92.5%, it has one of the best graduation rates among urban, Title I high schools in the nation. Its well-rounded academic program includes foreign languages, visual and performing arts, and extracurricular clubs and activities to help prepare students for the world that awaits them.

Trinity welcomes children of diverse backgrounds. Since our founding in 1951, Trinity’s core belief is a child’s elementary school years should be a celebrated and distinct experience from middle and high school. By being elementary-only, Trinity provides a program that is centered on not only the needs and interests of children, but also cherishing their childhood years.

Primarily serving families of the Cathedral of Christ the King, the school’s mission calls it to inspire a love of learning and to prepare students for active participation in, and contributions to, the Church and their community. With emphasis on Christian principles, individual responsibility is developed and spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, and physical growth are nurtured in each child. CKS was named a 2007 Blue Ribbon School. This is the second time the school has received this honor. (continued on page 62)
