Food Truck Sunday
The second Food Truck Sunday event of the summer is Sunday, June 30th from 11 am – 4 pm at St. Joseph’s Children’s Home. This community event, filled with food and shopping, is hosted by the Frankfort Avenue Business Association. Six local food trucks, a mini Farmer’s Market, and restaurants of Frankfort Avenue are featured. The Root Cellar, Rocko’s Rewards, and Lowe Creek Farm also participate in this event. The Root Cellar, located on Third Street, offers farm-raised products from the Louisville area including meats, cheeses, dairy, eggs, honey, and maple syrup. Rocko’s Rewards sells all natural dog biscuits in multiple flavors. Lowe Creek Farm has produce, apple and peach butters, jams sweet dill pickles, and other foods.
There will be yard sales, held by neighborhood residents, and sidewalk sales sponsored by retailers in the surrounding area including Clifton and Crescent Hill. The Children’s Home also hosts a garage sale to clear out items from its Thrift Store. The food trucks will donate a portion of their sales to benefit St. Joe’s Children Home. This event is free and open to the public. If there is rain, this event will be held in St. Joe’s gym.
