You need to apply to the local authority to re-zone or subdivide a property. Your application can take a number months, or even years to be approved or declined.
• The town planning department then goes through a process of consideration of the relevant information and possible objections • The application is then referred to the Council Committee and Provincial Committee for final approval or decline

• You need to talk to your town planner & architect. They will draw up plans and a detailed report which will be submitted to the City Council. • Registered letters need to be sent to the neighbors informing them of the planned rezoning. Adverts also need to be placed in the local newspaper, allowing for objections.
