CYLINDER SPLITTING ASSEMBLY This test, also known as the Brazilian cylinder splitting test, is performed with the cylinder placed on its side.

BUILT FOR PRECISION

The load frame of the F-25EX is manufactured from structural steel angles with top and bottom crossheads of solid steel plate. The hydraulic cylinder assembly is mounted to the top crosshead, with force being applied in a downward direction. This design eliminates buildup of foreign material around the piston cylinder area. The machine has a 6 inch diameter power piston. Hydraulic pressure is supplied to the power piston assembly by a two-stage pump. The hydraulic control system is comprised of a single control valve. LABORATORY MODEL F-25EX morphs into a Laboratory Machine with the addition of an optional stand. The base has bolt holes for floor mounting.

GREAT FOR FIELD OR LAB USE

The F-25EX is designed to be placed on a floor, used in the field, or it can be bolted to a benchtop. As a Field Model, the F-25EX is compact, extremely rugged, and portable. It’s an excellent choice for testing at the jobsite. The Best Seller becomes a Laboratory Model when the optional stand is added. The stand raises the controls to an ergonomic operating level. The base of the stand has bolt holes for floor mounting.

High Capacity Testers 1,500,000 lbf 6,700 kN The FORNEY High Capacity Series was speciﬁcally designed for research and production testing of high-strength materials. Available in two frame types, both have the highest level of rigidity which will virtually eliminate frame elongation as a test parameter. They are ideal for research labs.

HIGH CAPACITY TESTER LT-806 This machine features a distortion-resistant load frame which has solid steel crossheads welded to solid steel side members, forming a massive one-piece load frame. All the load frames in this series are open front and rear for quick loading and unloading of test specimens. The platen is conveniently positioned waist high and safety metal mesh doors ensure operator safety.

HIGH CAPACITY TESTER LT-704 The four post design allows a variety of sample sizes and shapes to be tested and has the ﬂexibility to test blocks in prism as well as specimens of unusual height. The posts are made of High Grade Steel. It is designed for ﬂoor level installation, eliminating the need for costly pit foundations. The four-post frame is open on all sides for specimen inspection and easy cleanup. The compression platen is positioned waist high to make loading of heavy specimens easier for a single operator.

RAILROAD TIE TESTER Using standardized testing protocols, the FORNEY Engineering Department frequently y develops equipment tailored to customer speciﬁcations. One example is the Railroad Tie Tester for prestressed concrete railroad ties. Note the separate loading mechanism.

CREEP TESTER This custom designed 100,000 lbf capacity tester was designed to hold ﬁve 6x12 inch cylinders stacked longitudinally. The FORNEY design, with a range of 22,500 to 100,000 lbf, closely simulates the anticipated loading age conditions so that accurate long-term measurements can be recorded. Deformation of the cylinders is monitored throughout the test via a mechanical bourdon type gauge. SPEEDLOADER – ROTARY For production-line speediness, the Rotary Speedloader allows the operator to load a specimen while the current specimen is being tested. REBAR WITH T-CAP TESTER This custom designed machine was adapted from a FORNEY Universal Tester with Extended Frame in order to test Rebar with T-Caps in tension. Working with a customer, the FORNEY engineers knew from the start that maintaining frame rigidity would be extremely important. Taking a normal frame and doubling its overall height requires more than simply stretching the drawings—a host of calculations goes into creation of a custom-designed machine. R-VALUE (STABILOMETER) TESTER This custom designed 60,000 lbf capacity tester was speciﬁcally designed with larger-than-standard opening to accommodate a Stabilometer. It is an economical solution to a common need.

AUTOMATIC CONTROLLER This Tester is shown with the FORNEY Automatic mounted directly to the machine frame. It runs automatically from the beginning of the test until specimen failure. Results are viewed on screen or they can be downloaded via RS232.

Automatic Systems FORNEY Automatic Systems allow true “one touch” operation. Settings are entered on the keypad or on a PC. The testing machine takes over and runs the test, automatically calculating the results at the end. Each test is the same. Automatic repeatability really does give MORE accurate testing and data management than a human operator. DR500 • Easy to Use • Economical DR500 The DR500 has a six-digit display and one channel. A tough and sturdy unit, easy to learn.

The DR500 is famous for its stable, drift-free readout and accurate calibration. The single-channel, 6-digit display offers a 16-point calibration feature. Accurate: ±0.5% from 1% to full capacity. The DR500 will display live load with peak load captured at the end of each test. Analog Gauges Many test sites are too harsh for electric digitals. FORNEY has analog gauges in single and dual-gauge versions with capacities to match the Testers.
