Fund Fellows and our mentor at our last official gathering
at the Highlander Research and Education Center in early April .2017.

We are five community and cultural
organizers (mostly} living and working in the South.
During our term as fellows we have tried to center care,
both of ourselves and each other, and a commitment to

showing up as whole human beings and not just
organizers.

We believe this culture of care and
commitment to making space for organizers to be imperfect, tender, messy, vulnerable human beings is
absolutely essential to maintaining and strengthening the
larger movement for justice and liberation. Healing, care,
and
vulnerability
cannot be
afterthoughts
in our
movements or buzzwords we pay lip service to.
We
cannot create the kind of world we want to see if we are
replicating the traumas of the imperialist capitalist white

supremacist ableist cisheteropatriarchial sytems that
devalue our wholeness and strip us of our humanity. This
zine is our contribution to discussions of self-care,
