Dermot Lacey Dermot Lacey is one of the most experienced members of Dublin City Council having represented the South East Inner City from 1993 and the Pembroke area up to the present. He is Leader of the Labour Group on the City Council. Dermot is Chairperson of the Housing Committee and has served as Lord Mayor of Dublin and Cathaoirleach (Chairperson) of the Dublin Regional Authority. He has recently been elected Chairperson of the Association of Irish Regions. He is a member of the Dublin City Education and Training Board (formerly the VEC) and serves as Chairperson of the Boards of Ringsend and Ballsbridge Colleges. He is also Chairperson of the South Inner City Local Drugs Task Force. He is a former member of the Dublin Docklands Development Council. He is passionate about Local Government reform - particularly in Dublin and has published proposals "A Fair City - One Dublin Many Dubliners". He is a life-long member of the Scout Movement.
