Selecting the right builder is the single most important decision in determining the success of the building of your custom home. This decision should consider the builder’s reputation, integrity, & experience. A builder directly affects all aspects of the construction of your home. He must be someone who has the ability and experience to fulfill your vision and give you an exceptional product. Because building a custom home is a complex process an important ingredient in the relationship with your builder is communication. This quality is critical.
Support Team Another important quality in successful building of your custom home is the strength of the builder, management team, and tradesmen. We have two project managers who work with the builder to oversee all aspects of construction. We also have many long-term relationships with many of the top tradesmen in our area. The third part of our team is our warranty service department. These staff members not only handle servicing our client’s home after move in, but they perform the critical tasks of finishing the punch items before move in. Our team provides clients with job communication, superior workmanship, an excellent product and a great experience.

Biography Andy Beno, President of Old South Homes •• Andy Beno grew up in Montgomery, AL, the youngest of four boys. •• He attended college at Auburn University and went into the Air Force as a navigator immediately after graduating. •• The Air Force moved him and his family around the U.S. and finally to Eglin Air Force Base in the Niceville, FL. •• One positive aspect of moving around so much was a love Beno developed for building houses for his family. •• Set to retire in 2001, Beno began to look into starting his own building business after being approached by several admirers of his homes. The military, however, had a different plan for him after the attacks on September 11. •• After serving overseas, Beno retired from the Air Force in 2003 to pursue his passion for building homes. •• Old South Homes was born shortly after, as people began to recognize Beno’s preference for traditional homes with southern beauty. •• Soon, however, opportunity called the business closer to the white sandy beaches of Destin, FL, just over the Mid Bay Bridge. •• The high demand for Old South Homes reached Seagrove Beach and Rosemary Beach, where Beno now builds almost exclusively.
