Once the second-largest movie theater in the United States, The Fabulous Fox is the shimmering crown jewel of Grand Center and is well-deserving of its winning status.

Since opening in 1929, the Fox has appeared in films such as John Carpenter’s 1981 epic “Escape from New York.” Its red-and-gold, palace-style interior has played host to thousands of live performances, from rock ‘n’ roll shows to the third national tour of “Les Misérables.” The theater was even the backdrop for St. Louis native Chuck Berry’s 60th birthday party.

Today, the Fox continues its radiant legacy with an array of comedy shows, concerts and musical theater performances. For a behind-the-scenes look, guests can sign up for 90-minute walking tours, which include an organ concert and an invitation to explore the Fox’s five sprawling stories.
