Community

Board Games

Challenge your friends to a game of Battleships Cluedo, or Scrabble.

Bracelet making

Make one-of-a-kind clay bead bracelets – using small, disc-shaped round beads with a flat profile, made from polymer clay.

Card making for the Greenwood Centre

An opportunity to create cards for the local community.

Croquet

A fun team game to test your co-ordination!

Put on your dancing shoes and dance like no one is watching at the LEH disco.

Escape Room

Family Games

The aliens have trapped you in their spaceship. You must solve the clues and puzzles to crack the code and escape before it’s too late.

A range of collaborative games that will test logic, memory and creativity – humour and teamwork will be essential.

Farm

A chance to see, touch and learn first-hand about some of these cute and furry farm animals.

Herb pots

A relaxing and rewarding hands-on session outside by the vegetable beds. Everyone will take home a pot of live basil/parsley that will live and thrive on their window- sill at home ready to be used in various dishes (soups, pasta sauces, etc)”.

Hula Hoops

Get fit and have fun in a beginner hula hoop workshop! You’ll learn how to hoop on your waist plus lots of simple but fancy tricks.

Karaoke

Sing along to your favourite song using a microphone

Litter Picking

Litter picking contributes to improved wildlife habitats and healthier ecosystems, encourages teamwork and benefits both the community and local flora and fauna.

Tea with elderly care home residents

Tea Tasting

Come meet OAP residents from local care homes and chat about your LEH experience.

We will sample a variety of loose-leaf teas from Mr Mangion’s selection, such as Chocolate Brownie tea, and enjoy some scones and homemade greengage jam.

Creative

Badge making

Come along and get creative in designing your own badges that you will be able to take home and keep for yourself or share with family and friends.

Balloon animals

Try your hand at sculpting balloons to make amazing animals.

Bulb Planting

Planting flower bulbs for the elderly who will be joining us on the day. These will make a lovely take away gift that hopefully will grow into beautiful flowers. They should be collected at the end of the day.

Enjoy card games from Snap to Bridge and anything in between.

Card Making

Come and liberate your inner creative self by making cards for any and all occasions while listening to some top tunes! All materials provided.

Digital Photography and Printing

Come and learn to create your own photos using DSLR cameras to be edited and printed.

Drama Games

Join us for a fun-filled session with all your favourite drama games. Expect lots of improvisation, unique characters with props, and so much more!

Festival Headwear – Tataki-Zome

Workshop

Learn the art of Tataki-Zome making your own unique fabric print from natural materials such as flowers to create a festival headscarf/bandana.

Gardening

Spend time in the fresh air, helping to design and plant out some garden beds in the school grounds. No prior knowledge needed!

Happiness Jars

A creative and practical activity to practise gratitude daily, enabling you to appreciate the small, sacred events and experiences that we tend to easily ignore.

Indigo Dyeing

In this session you will learn about beautiful natural dye indigo and have a go at dyeing your own apron using indigo. You will cover a variety of methods to create patterns on your apron, which will be yours to take home after the session.

Knitting

Knitting is a very creative mindful activity, which gives much enjoyment and a sense of calmness.

Lego

Relive your childhood with some relaxing and imaginative Lego

play. Get together with your friends or create something by yourself – the possibilities are endless!’

Pamper Yourself

Mini manicures and hair styling.

Physical Computing

Explore physical computing activities where you connect the hardware and write programs to control it. We will use a Raspberry Pico microcontroller and Python code to control LED strips. Advanced users can add buttons, buzzers, motion sensors or potentiometers.

Pop Art bags

Explore the impact of Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol’s art on the designs you create for your own tote bag. You will be using the heat press and posca pens.

Pretzel Making

Join us for a hands-on-pretzel making activity where you’ll learn to twist and bake your own delicious pretzels from scratch. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a complete beginner this activity promises a tasty treat and a great time!

Tie dye t-shirts

Come along and explore the technique of Tie Dye to create your very own t-shirt. You will be preparing your t-shirt and dying it, ready to take home to rinse and dry.

Solving the Rubiks Cube

Learn how to solve the Rubiks cube.

Watercolour Painting

A tutorial that concentrates on painting loose watercolour flowers and possibly bees. Your paintings will be perfect to use on a greeting card. The aim of the session is to produce at least one greeting card that you can take home and send to someone!

Mindful

Carlisle Dog Walk

Dog walk to Carlisle Park.

Candle Making

We will be making scented candles. You can choose the colour and the scent and even add extras to make them beautiful. They should be collected at the end of the day.

Creating Flowers with Mindfulness

Make beautiful power flowers using a variety of papers. Simple to make but impactful and all with step-by-step instructions.

Folded Book Art

Join us to make beautiful creations out of old books. They are surprisingly simple to construct and there are lots of different designs for you to choose from. These make special presents for family and friends, or you may want to make one for yourself!

Gong Bath

Sophie will play gongs and other therapeutic instruments as you lie down and do nothing. Their soothing and atmospheric sounds remove anxiety and stress and put you into a calm and relaxed state.

(If anyone is epileptic or has an ear infection it is not advised to attend as the sounds of the gongs make the fluid vibrate in the ears).

Lose yourself in a Book

Quiet reading in the comfort of the LRC.

Mindful Colouring

Calming, increases concentration, helps you to focus, and to see the big picture!

Mindful Jigsaws

Finding the right piece of a jigsaw puzzle can be so satisfying! Come and enjoy making some beautiful jigsaws with your friends.

Sudoku/ Wordsearch

Time to enjoy a variety of puzzles with your friends.
