Aquatic Fitness Aquatic Fitness Benefits Fitness

Cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, coordination, agility, power and balance are fitness components achievable to maintain and improve any fitness level. There are many aquatic fitness aids to help maximize the effect of your exercise, including removable stairs and an aquatic lift into the main pool, aquatic wheelchairs to help those in needof the ramp into the therapy teach pool. Massaging jets in the therapy pool too!

Water Temperature

The water temperature is consistent all year long. You do not have to contend with variable elements such as heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.

Water Resistance

Using the resistance of water in exercise is like exercising with weights or machines on land but safer. (According to your needs and limitations)

Speaks for itself. Social connections have proven health benefits.

Buoyancy

Stress Relief

The soothing comfort of the water, aids in alleviating mental and emotional stresses.

Therapeutic

Exercise in water safely enables and assists you in the recovery from injury, surgery and illness. It also helps to combat the aging process and has amazing mental therapeutic value. There are massaging jets in the therapy pool as well.

In chest deep water, approximately 90% of your body weight is buoyant; therefore you really are bearing only 10% of your weight when you exercise. Exercise in the water is much safer and reduces stress on your joints and muscles.

Cooling Effect

With your continual movement in cool water your body is kept from overheating. Drinking water while exercising in water is just as important as when exercising on dry land.

Fun

The aquatic environment and facility atmosphere make it a great place to laugh and have fun while doing something great for your mind and body.
