Arts & Crafts Painted Brush Writing
Relief Sculpture Workshop
Introduction to Acrylics
Painted Brush Lettering is a wonderful contemporary hand that originated as a sign painter’s alphabet. The letters are fun to explore, cultivate and play with. Using a round brush and watercolours, we will focus on the lower case letters of the alphabet during the first two classes. Then will explore capitals and a project or two during the last two sessions. We will learn how to make thick and thin strokes and experiment with various forms of the letters. This is a lively hand, easy to embellish and, with a few guidelines, one that is easy to make your own. Instructor: Carolynn Dallaire
You will learn to create a beautiful floral relief sculpture step by step in this relaxed but informative workshop. This class is limited to 6 students so each student receives one-onone instruction and demonstrations - all levels welcome. Instructor: Joanne Purdy
Introduce new or returning students to the basics of acrylic paint, mediums and tools. Fun projects are assigned to learn to apply these basics. Students will be encouraged to have fun and create acrylic paintings on subjects that they love. Instructor: Barry Strasbourg-Thompson

Aquatic Fitness Benefits Water Resistance Buoyancy Therapeutic Stress Relief Social Fun
Using the resistance of water in exercise is like exercising with weights or machines on land but safer. Approximately 90% of your body weight is buoyant; you are bearing only 10X of your weight when exercising in chest deep water, which reduces stress on your joints and muscles. Exercise in water safely enables and assists you in the recovery from injury, surgery and illness. It also helps to combat the aging process and has amazing mental therapeutic value. The soothing comfort of the water alleviates mental and emotional stresses. Social connections have proven health benefits. The aquatic environment and facility atmosphere make it a great place to laugh and have fun while doing something great for your mind and body.
There are many aquatic fitness aids to maximize the effect of exercise, including removable stairs, wheelchairs to help navigate the ramp into the therapy pool and an aquatic lift into the main pool.
