Is there a time limit on equipment? Our 30 minute maximum on cardio equipment remains in effect. We also ask that you do not spend more than 5 minutes on a strength machine and supersetting between equipment is not permitted. Are the Personal Trainers available for one-on-one service? Sorry, not at this time, we are evaluating options for the reintegration of this service for a future phase. All you need is a computer or device with Internet access. Do I have to have a camera or webcam to participate? We respect your privacy and understand that the use of a camera or webcam may make some individuals feel uncomforable. The use of a camera is not a requirement for participation in a class and you will still be able to see the instructor on your screen. When using Zoom, you will have the option to turn your camera on or off at any time. What platform are you using to host online live classes? All virtual classes will be hosted on ZOOM - a secure video conferencing platform. Visit the Zoom website to learn more.
Do I need a Zoom account to participate? No, a Zoom account is not required but you will need to download the Zoom software for your computer or app on your mobile device. How do I join the live virtual program via Zoom? Once your registration is complete through our registration system (reccowichan.ca), you will receive an email registration confirmation. This is important to keep for your records because the URL link for the virtual class in Zoom is in this confirmation. Please give yourself additional time to work out any troubleshooting issues before the class begins. Click here to watch a video on how to join a Zoom meeting. What if I have other troubleshooting issues that the instructor can’t help me with? Please visit http://support.zoom.us for more information. Can I have a friend do the class with me? Only class members that have registered will be invited from the ‘waiting room’ in Zoom, into the classroom. What if something changes?
How do I register for a program?
Things are changing day to day, minute by minute. If you decide to register for a program and details of the program change, a member of the Ladysmith Parks, Recreation and Culture team will be in touch. If you need to withdraw from a class, refunds may be given for withdrawals 5 days prior to the start of a program, subject to a $5 refund processing fee. No withdrawals or refunds 4 days or less before course start date.
We are doing our very best to plan in advance for a return to our ‘regular’ class schedule. However, the health and safety of you, our community and our staff is of absolute priority. We will continue to follow the Provincial Health Officer’s and WorkSafeBC directives on COVID-19 protocols. Watch for July and August Activity Guides coming soon with more programs and registration opportunities.
