passivehouse/net zero energy Is it possible to reduce the environmental impact of growth to such an extent that the project could regenerate the environment? By “permacity” we mean a systemic and global conception method that aims to create an urban system or metabolism inspired by natural ecology (biomimicry) and where each individual element contributes to the others. The term is derived from “permaculture” or “permanent agriculture”. “Permacity” enables the “permanent city” to be a sustainable ecosystem. One of the fundamental models of permaculture is that of the forest, composed of seven stratas that complement each other and maintain a dynamic and balanced relationship, sharing water and nutrients. As such, permacity would be a “piece” of the city evolving in equilibrium.
