CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Historically, the archaic calendar of the Roman year began in March, in homage to the god Mars, son of Zeus and Hera. At first, he was known as the god of agriculture and fertility, but later his warrior side became stronger, and he is widely known as the god of war. He was dedicated on the first day of March and was intrinsically linked to the beginning of spring, the vernal equinox. Rome had an agricultural and livestock economy, so it coordinated with this beginning of the year.

Women's Day is commemorated in March, the Irish celebrate Saint Patrick's Day and others perform rituals around the spring equinox.

This month you will find in our magazine a special on Women's Day, as well as what the equinox is all about and an invitation to attend the St. Patrick's Day parade in Hilton Head, an event so well known in our area.

Events in the lowcountry are a window of opportunity to share with the community, become known or generate new income, so we invite you to review each month's calendar of events in our physical magazine and in our social networks.

Have a great month of March.
