LOCAL ART, FASHION, ANTIQUES & BOUTIQUES!
When you are on vacation, shopping is a must! Luckily, the Lake Area has an assortment of locally owned shops with plenty of unique finds so that you don’t have to go home empty handed.
Located in the heart of downtown Lake Charles, it’s easy to find an array of local art and specialty products curated by locally owned businesses. Right on Broad Street, check out Olive & Indigo for fashion-forward pieces, comfortable fabrics of Bayou Blend, or Southern luxe items and paper good at Papersmith & Co. Around the corner, top off your outfit with a fashionable hat at Bespoke Hat Company for a variety of hats, accessories, genuine leather bags and shoes.
One of the coolest shopping experiences in downtown Lake Charles is the Panorama Music Exchange that is located inside the Panorama Music House. For band memorabilia, vinyl, musical instruments, and vintage finds, this is something to put on your list – especially for music lovers. Also, in downtown, The Corner Store features local art, jewelry, and pottery, and also be sure to check out Cedar Chest Antiques, Iron Shop Provisions, or the Alexander Art Studio for one of the largest collections of locally produced art in the state.
Additional boutiques in Lake Charles are Mill & Gray and Mimosa Boutique for that perfect outfit. In Sulphur, be sure to check out Flock of Five Gift & Art Emporium for a wide selection of locally produced art, local honey, essential oils, and gift ideas. Also, on the west side of the river, Polished Peasant will add the right spice to your outfit, and the Harrington Gallery around the corner from The Grove Park features local art and pottery.
