At this year’s Bayview Mackinac Race on July 11 in Port Huron, Michigan, Atwater Brewery will be a presenting sponsor. Mackinac Marine Services in Saint Ignace Receives Small Shipyard Grant

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a Maritime Administration’s Small Shipyard Grant that amounts to $752,933 to Mackinac Marine Services in Saint Ignace, Michigan. It also has been announced that Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet Ferry will match that amount. The money will go toward improvements and facility updates. The facility will now be able to lift up to 200-tons for repairs or inspections thanks to a travel lift that will be completed in 2021.

“This important grant will not only help us grow the shipyard capacity but will also take steps to provide additional year round jobs in our area that would otherwise be in another state,” says Jerry Fetty, CEO of Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet® Ferry and Mackinac Marine Services. Ashton Rinker, 34, from Riverview, Florida, continued his winning ways in capturing another first place finish on Champions Park Lake at the “3rd Annual Wake The Lake” event held on August 10-11, 2019, in Springfield, Ohio. A massive entry list of 26 Formula One tunnel boats registered to line up to compete at the fourth stop on the NGK Spark Plugs Series F1 Powerboat Championship tour.
