EVENT ADVANCE Best Wings featured at WingFest

One of the Lake area’s most popular events, WingFest, will be held Sept. 14 at The Regalia Hotel & Conference Center in Lake Ozark.

Sample wings from Lake area restaurants who will be competing for the title of Best Wings. Participating restaurants include: Franky & Louie’s, Pappo’s Pizzeria, Wobbly Boots, Redhead Lakeside Grill, Wicked Willie’s, Paradise, Tucker’s Shuckers, Bend Bar & Grill, The Encore, Twisted Tony’s and the Regalia Hotel.

All-you-can-eat wings plus one drink is included in the $15 ticket, available in advance at any Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks location or $20 at the door.

Held poolside from 5-7 p.m. (weather permitting). All proceeds benefit local charities.

EVENT ADVANCE Taking flight at air show

The Lake of the Ozarks Air Show is back at the Camdenton Memorial—Lake Regional Airport on Sept. 10 from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Air show performers, historical aircraft and entertainment will be showcased during the day. This year’s theme is “Operation Welcome Home,” a salute to Vietnam Veterans, 45 years after the end of the Vietnam War. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for seating.

Parking is $10 on Saturday only. Free off-site parking is available at the Camdenton Middle School with free shuttle service to the Air Show.

A Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be on display at the airport Sept. 8-11. Hours are 6-9 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

Run for the Fallen will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 911 a.m. In additional to honoring all military men and women of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and ISIS Operations, the Lake of the Ozarks Walk/Run For The Fallen pays a special tribute to the 146 Missouri fallen soldiers. Each participant wears the name of a fallen soldier during the walk/run.
