1. Sign up for Open Mic Night at Summit Coffee in downtown Davidson.

2. Let your inner monkey out for the day and go rock climbing at Cliff Hangers in Mooresville. You can even join their youth teams, take a class, or join a summer camp.

3. Go kayaking at the Lake Norman YMCA.

4. Swim at the beach at Ramsey Creek Park in Cornelius.

5. Go see a show by Davidson Community Players’ Connie Company. Better yet, audition for one!

6. Purchase tickets to visit the Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville.

7. If you’re under 8 years old, check out Discovery Place KIDS in Huntersville. Explore the museum and get creative!

8. Join the LKN Teen Council. You can make some new friends and participate in community service.

9. Register for the Youth Summer Camp and Teen Art Workshop or take an art class at Mooresville Arts in downtown Mooresville.

10. Visit North County Regional Library in Huntersville and try out their 3D printer in the Makerspace. 1. Enjoy some live music and other fun events, such as karaoke, trivia, yoga, and more, at LangTree in Mooresville.

2. Learn how to shag. The Lake Norman Shag Club was organized in 1983 and is always looking for new members.

3. Train for a half-marathon or a marathon. There are plenty of these races here throughout the year.

4. Cool off with a sweet treat at Whit’s Frozen Custard in Davidson and Huntersville.

5. Pack your favorite beverages and book an excursion with Charlotte Cycleboats at Exit 30.

6. Watch the blue herons nest at sunset on their protected island between D4 and D6.

7. Stop by WaterSide Bar & Grill in Catawba for Karaoke Thursdays.

8. Learn to sail at Lake Norman Community Sailing at Blythe Landing in Huntersville.

9. Visit one of the many locally-owned breweries in the Lake Norman area. Cheers!

2. Join the YMCA (there are three locations in the Lake Norman area) for fitness, friends, and fun. You’ll find plenty of senior activities there.

3. Take a shopping trip to Birkdale Village. With Chico’s, Bath & Body Works and Barnes & Noble, you really can’t go wrong!

4. Browse The Van Every/Smith Galleries at Davidson College. The permanent art collection features 3,100 works of art spanning five centuries.

5. Learn to play pickleball. It’s the hot ticket in town for seniors.

6. Volunteer for a non-profit — think Ada Jenkins Center, Hope House, or Angels & Sparrows in Huntersville.

7. Take Tai Chi through Cornelius Parks, Arts, Recreation & Culture.

8. Check out the North Meck Senior Center in Huntersville for all sorts of activities.

9. Participate in any of the events held by Lake Norman State Park in Troutman. Get outside and have some fun!

10. Take a trip to Main St. Antique and Design Gallery in downtown Mooresville to explore their extensive collections of antiques, art, clothing, and more!
